Rashard Higgins A Healthy Scratch Sunday Night

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins is a healthy scratch for Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens with Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) officially active, tut it's a bit surprising with rookie Anthony Schwartz (concussion) out in Week 12. Higgins has been useless from a fantasy perspective this year, as he's mostly served as the team's No. 3 wideout in a run-first offense with a beat up quarterback. The 27-year-old has totaled just 185 yards and one touchdown on 15 receptions (31 targets) in 11 games played. Behind Jarvis Landry and Peoples-Jones, JoJo Natson and Ja'Marcus Bradley will fight for snaps as the team's No. 3 wideout.

Rashard Higgins Finds The End Zone Vs. Chargers

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins caught three of five targets for 29 yards and a touchdown in a 47-42 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. Higgins came down with the first of Baker Mayfield's two touchdown passes on the afternoon, a seven-yard reception early in the second quarter. The veteran wideout has emerged as the No. 2 receiver in Cleveland, thanks to Jarvis Landry's knee injury. Higgins will look to keep it going in Week 6's home matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Rashard Higgins Leads Cleveland In Receiving

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins caught four of seven targets for 63 yards in a 14-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. Higgins led Cleveland in receiving on an afternoon where the team struggled to move the ball through the air. The veteran receiver has taken on a larger role in the offense since Jarvis Landry injured his knee two games ago and should continue to serve as the team's No. 2 wideout while Landry is on the shelf. Higgins has worked his way into low-end flex consideration in fantasy formats. He will take on the Los Angeles Chargers on the road in Week 5.

Rashard Higgins Will Play More As Season Progresses

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins, who played just four snaps in Week 1, should see his role expand as the season carries on. "He was our fourth receiver going in," noted offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. "We played a lot of three receiver sets. He came in and spelled guys when the time was right. His play will increase as the year goes along. He was coming back from a little injury, little tightness from a couple of weeks back. So it's just getting him back into the groove now." Higgins had a solid end to 2020, catching 18 of 27 targets for 294 yards and four touchdowns over his final four games of the season. As of now, the 26-year-old is blocked on the depth chart by Odell Beckham Jr. (knee), Jarvis Landry, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Anthony Schwartz (knee). He isn't worth rostering at the moment but represents an intriguing option down the road if a Cleveland receiver were to suffer an injury.

Rashard Higgins Misses Practice Friday

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins (leg) missed practice on Friday, but head coach Kevin Stefanski said that Higgins' injury isn't serious. Higgins came down with a minor injury in practice on Thursday and had his leg wrapped. It's unlikely that he'll play in the preseason finale this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, but he should be ready in time for Week 1 of the regular season. The 26-year-old managed to put up a career-high 559 receiving yards on 37 receptions while also producing 16.2 yards per catch. However, that was also with Odell Beckham Jr. missing most of the season due to injury. Higgins will be competing for snaps as the No. 3 wideout with Donovan Peoples-Jones in a run-heavy offense, so you can't count on him for consistent production.

Rashard Higgins Leaves Practice Early

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins left Thursday's practice early after he appeared to tweak something. Higgins went and spoke to team trainers after a rep during quarterback/wide receiver drills and did not return to the session. He was later spotted on the sidelines with a sizable wrap around his right quad/hamstring area. The team is likely to update his status later in the day. Higgins is battling to hold off Donovan Peoples-Jones for the No. 3 wide receiver role this year.

Rashard Higgins Dealing With Sore Ankle

The Cleveland Browns will be without wide receiver Rashard Higgins for the next few days. Higgins rolled his ankle during practice on Wednesday and will be out at least for Thursday's session. Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that Higgins should be fine. With Higgins out, Donovan Peoples-Jones should see some extra reps with the first team. Higgins will attempt to win the WR3 job on the team behind starters Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. in camp.

Rashard Higgins Returns To Browns On One-Year Deal

The Cleveland Browns and wide receiver Rashard Higgins agreed upon a one-year deal on Wednesday. After spending the first five seasons of his career with the Browns, Higgins hit the open market as a free-agent but didn't take very long in returning to Cleveland, which he reportedly wanted to do all along. The veteran wideout will return to his customary No. 3 WR role behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. Higgins caught 37 balls for 599 yards and four touchdowns for the Browns in 2020. While the Cleveland offense took a big step forward in 2020, Higgins will continue to see his fantasy upside capped playing in a run-heavy scheme.

Feb 27th · 02:56 PM
Rashard Higgins Hopes To Remain With Browns

Free-agent wide receiver Rashard Higgins told Cleveland.com that he hopes to remain with the Cleveland Browns but he has yet to receive an offer from the team. Higgins is slated to become a free-agent when the new league year opens but the Browns are waiting to see what the salary cap for 2021 is before making offers to their pending free-agents. Higgins is well-regarded in Cleveland but the team already has over $30 million tied up in the contracts of Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry for 2021, so it is questionable whether they would want to commit more money to the position by bringing Higgins back. Higgins caught 37 passes for 599 yards and four TDs in 2020 and should have little trouble finding a team willing to add him as their No. 3 receiver if the Browns choose not to re-sign him.

Rashard Higgins Leads Browns In Receiving In Playoff Loss

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins led his team in receiving in a 22-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. Higgins caught five of seven targets for 88 yards but he will instead be remembered for the play he didn't make. Higgins appeared on his way to a touchdown near the end of the second quarter but wound up fumbling the ball through the Kansas City end zone, resulting in the Chiefs offense getting the ball at the 20-yard line. It was a tough play as he appeared to take a helmet-to-helmet hit but all Browns fans will remember is that he didn't score what would have been the game-deciding touchdown. Higgins is now an unrestricted free-agent and could be playing for a different team next season, also Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski appeared to be a fan of Higgins during his first year at the helm. If he stays with the Browns, the return of Odell Beckham Jr. would push Higgins back to the No. 3 WR role in Cleveland.

Rashard Higgins, Jedrick Wills Jr. Cited For Drag Racing

Cleveland Browns rookie left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. and wide receiver Rashard Higgins were both cited for drag racing on Tuesday. The two players were pulled over and were each written $124 tickets. Police also conducted a probable-cause search in one of the vehicles for a suspected marijuana joint, but neither player was cited for it. Wills was the 10th overall pick in the draft and has started all but one game at left tackle in his first NFL season. Higgins has become the No. 2 receiver behind Jarvis Landry with Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) injured. With head coach Kevin Stefanski and receiver KhaDarel Hodge out for wild-card weekend against the Steelers, among others, the Browns offense can ill-afford to lose any more offensive weapons as they get set for their first playoff game in 18 years.

Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Other WRs Expected To Return

Cleveland Browns wide receivers Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, KhaDarel Hodge and Donovan Peoples-Jones, who were out in Week 16 because of COVID-19, are expected to rejoin the team once they can practice as early as Thursday. However, Cleveland continues to deal with COVID-19 issues ahead of their pivotal Week 17 game against the Steelers. Linebacker Malcolm Smith and tight end Harrison Bryant both tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, according to a source informed of the situation. Linebacker B.J. Goodson and safety Andrew Sendejo also won't be available this Sunday. While this is a situation to watch for any high-risk close contacts, the good news is the Browns should be getting their receivers out after having to use Marvin Hall as their top wideout in the loss to the Jets. Landry will be more of a low-end WR2 if he's back in a tougher matchup with Pittsburgh's secondary this weekend.

Rashard Higgins A Solid Flex Option In Week 16

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins has emerged as a quality fantasy option over the past three games, posting 16 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns over that span. Higgins has a good shot at continuing his recent production against the New York Jets in Week 16. New York has struggled to contain opposing passing attacks, ranking 29th in pass-defense DVOA and allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to wideouts. Fantasy gamers can treat Higgins as a solid flex option for Week 16.

Rashard Higgins Goes For 76 Yards In Week 15

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins caught four of five targets for 76 yards in a 20-6 win over the New York Giants in Week 15. Higgins wound up leading the team in receiving on a night where the passing game was extremely efficient for Cleveland. The veteran receiver has been on a hot streak of late, having gone for at least 68 yards in each of his past three games while scoring twice in that same span. Higgins will be a solid flex option in Week 16 against the New York Jets.

Rashard Higgins A Flex Option In Week 15

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins has been solid over his past two games, having caught 12 passes and two touchdowns over that span. He will look to keep it going in a Week 15 road game against the New York Giants. The Giants have been tough on opposing wide receivers this season, allowing the 12th-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. That being said, the Giants will be without top cornerback James Bradberry on Sunday, which will make life much easier for Higgins on the outside. Fantasy managers can use Higgins as a decent flex option in deeper leagues in Week 15.

Dec 15th · 05:05 AM
Rashard Higgins Finds End Zone In Week 14

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins caught six of 10 targets for 68 yards and a touchdown in a 47-42 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. Higgins came up big for Cleveland, hauling in a 21-yard touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield in the loss. The veteran wideout has stepped up for Cleveland of late, posting 12 receptions for 163 yards and two touchdowns over his past two games. Higgins has worked his way into weekly flex consideration, even in a tough matchup against the New York Giants in Week 15.

Dec 6th · 10:37 PM
Rashard Higgins Catches Touchdown In Week 13

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins led his team in receiving in a 41-35 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 13. Higgins caught six of nine targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in the big win. He hauled in his third touchdown reception of the season in the second quarter when he caught a 17-yard pass from Baker Mayfield. The veteran wideout has quietly put together a productive stretch for the Browns as he has reached at least 48 receiving yards in three of the past four games. Despite the production, Higgins is tough to trust in fantasy unless you are using him as a flex in a deep league. He will take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14.

Dec 5th · 05:53 PM
Browns Run-Heavy Offense Zaps Rashard Higgins’ Appeal

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins looked earlier this season as if he would benefit immensely within the team's offense after the loss of Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) for the remainder of the season. But after logging his fifth game of the year last week with one catch or fewer, Higgins has lost any season-long or DFS fantasy appeal that he may have previously established. A large reason for this is the run-heavy nature of the Cleveland offense, which has led to fewer pass attempts for quarterback Baker Mayfield. Having to jockey primarily with Jarvis Landry, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Austin Hooper for targets, Higgins has simple slipped too far out of relevance, even in deep season-long formats to garner appeal against Tennessee in Week 13.

Oct 29th · 02:04 PM
Rashard Higgins A Solid Flex In Week 8

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins set season-highs in Week 7 with six catches for 110 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals. Slated to see a larger role thanks to Odell Beckham's season-ending knee injury, Higgins is all of a sudden very fantasy viable in Week 8 against a weak Las Vegas Raiders defense. Las Vegas is allowing the 10th-most fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position and ranks just 29th in pass-defense DVOA. Fantasy gamers in a pinch can fire up Higgins as a solid flex option this Sunday.

Rashard Higgins Tops 100 Yards In Week 7

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins caught all six of his targets for 110 yards in a 37-34 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. Higgins saw extra work with star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. leaving after the second offensive play with what is feared to be a serious knee injury. With Beckham expected to miss an extended amount of time, Higgins is worth an add in most fantasy leagues, although don't overspend those FAB funds as the Browns utilize one of the most run-heavy approaches on offense in the league. Higgins will look to stay hot in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders but Week 7 may end up being his best outing of the season.

Sep 27th · 04:26 PM
Rashard Higgins Inactive For Week 3

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins won't be active in Week 3 against the Washington Football Team. Considering he took just vie offensive snaps in Week 2, this move shouldn't come as a big surprise. Higgins was getting some preseason hype, but it's time to pull the ripcord if you're still rostering him in redraft leagues. KhaDarel Hodge has solidified a role as the No. 3 receiver in Cleveland, and we'll see a little more of JoJo Natson today, though not enough to make any kind of fantasy movement happen.

May 8th · 06:20 PM
Rashard Higgins Has Good Shot At No. 3 WR Gig

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins has a good chance to be the team's No. 3 receiver behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry to begin the 2020 season, in the opinion of The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. Higgins has an advantage over rookie Donovan Peoples-Jones because he already has chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield. Peoples-Jones will also have very few on-field repetitions with Mayfield because of the coronavirus restrictions. Head coach Kevin Stefanski ran three-wide sets only 25 percent of the time as the offensive coordinator in Minnesota, however, and the Browns have two capable tight ends in Austin Hooper and David Njoku. Running back Kareem Hunt can also run routes out of the backfield. Higgins has a leg up on the No. 3 wideout job, but it's unlikely to produce fantasy relevant numbers in this stacked offense.

May 8th · 02:44 PM
Rashard Higgins Returns To Browns

The Cleveland Browns announced on Friday that they have re-signed wide receiver Rashard Higgins. The veteran receiver had a rough 2019 season but will return to Cleveland on a one-year deal in attempts to earn a bigger contract next offseason. Higgins struggled through a knee injury early in 2019 and wound up catching just four passes for 55 yards and a touchdown. Higgins was originally a fifth-round draft pick by the team back in 2016 and broke out for 39 catches for 572 yards and four touchdowns in 2018. Outside of being a deep stash in dynasty leagues, Higgins will need an injury in front of him to make a difference in fantasy in 2020.

Rashard Higgins Re-Signs With Browns

The Cleveland Browns agreed to re-sign wide receiver Rashard Higgins to a one-year deal worth $910,000 on Tuesday, according to a league source. The source said that Higgins turned down more money to play elsewhere. He's spent the last four seasons with Cleveland and has established chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield, going for a career-high 39 catches for 572 yards and four touchdowns in 2018. The 25-year-old sprained the medial collateral ligament in his knee on Sept. 8 of last year and also clashed with former head coach Freddie Kitchens. As a result, he missed some games and lost the No. 3 receiver job to Damion Ratley and KhaDarel Hodge. Buried on the depth chart, you can leave Higgins off your fantasy radar in all redraft leagues heading into the 2020 season.

Rashard Higgins Finds End Zone in Week 10 Win

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins caught his lone target for a seven-yard touchdown in a 19-16 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 10. Higgins only made one catch but it was a big one as he scored the go-ahead touchdown with just 1:44 left on the clock. The veteran wideout has spent much of the season in Freddie Kitchens' doghouse but got a chance to play more with Antonio Callaway a healthy scratch on Sunday. Higgins could start to carve out a bigger role in the Cleveland offense going forward but he still will be fighting for targets behind stars Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. Cleveland faces the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”

Alex Baker has been playing daily fantasy professionally since 2015 under the handle Awesemo. Working his way up from the smallest stakes, he has been the #1 overall ranked player in DFS since 2017 on the strength of his predictive models for sports. As the competition has gotten more sophisticated, Alex has used game theory to build a winning strategy combining his fantasy and ownership projections. To this day, he still participates in almost every DFS tournament available.
