Saquon Barkley Limited To Begin The Week

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. The Giants continue to monitor Barkley in practices, but he should be good to go for Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers while seeing a normal workload as the unquestioned lead back of this offense. The 24-year-old has carried 24 times for 95 yards and also caught 10 of 14 targets for 32 yards in the last two games. Fantasy managers are happy that Barkley is now seeing a full workload, but the problem is New York's offense has been so bad overall. They don't stay on the field long enough or sustain enough drives to give him more work. With quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) likely out another week, Barkley may not be able to fully take advantage of the Chargers poor run defense as an RB2 this weekend.

Saquon Barkley Catches Six Passes In Loss To Miami

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley rushed for 55 yards on 11 carries while catching six of nine targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 20-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins. The Giants ran the ball 17 times, and Barkley registered 65% of the team's carries in Sunday's loss. The former No.2 overall pick has now caught at least six passes three times this season. Barkley is the Giants' best offensive weapon, but New York's offense continues to look sluggish this season. The 24-year-old has rushed for 315 yards and two touchdowns while catching 30 passes for 193 yards over eight games in 2021. Barkley is a mid-range RB2 against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14.

Saquon Barkley - Week 13 Outlook for Fantasy Football

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley continues to work his way back from a low-ankle sprain. The 24-year-old was removed from the injury report and is set to see a full workload against the Miami Dolphins in Week 13. Since returning from a four-game absence in Week 11, the former No.2 overall pick has rushed for 65 yards on 19 attempts while catching 10-of-11 targets for 44 yards over his last two games. The Miami Dolphins have been solid against the run this season and rank 14th in DVOA. Despite Barkley's recent lackluster performances, he is the Giants' most explosive offensive weapon; whether it's quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) or Mike Glennon under center, the star running back remains a must-start option and is a borderline RB1 in Week 13.

Saquon Barkley To Be A Focal Point Down The Stretch

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley will be a focal point of the offense down the stretch, according to head coach Joe Judge. Barkley hasn't produced good fantasy numbers in the two games since his return, but coach Judge still sees "an explosive athlete." The good news for fantasy managers is that the former second overall pick started slow the first two games of the season, but was able to have strong outings in Week 3 and Week 4 where he dominated the backfield touches and snaps. The 24-year-old played 86% of the snaps in Week 12 and touched the ball 17 times, so we can expect a significant workload for the fourth-year running back moving forward. With Freddie Kitchens now calling the plays, Barkley should be able to get more opportunities in space for some chunk plays. For now, he can be valued as a high-end RB2, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him get back to producing RB1 numbers to close out the season.

Saquon Barkley Racks Up 53 Total Yards In Week 12 Win

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley rushed for 40 yards on 13 attempts while catching 4-of-5 targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 13-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He averaged 3.1 yards per carry and was second in the team in targets with five behind only tight end Evan Engram (6). Since returning to action in Week 11, the former second overall pick has hauled in 10 receptions over his last two games. Barkley is a borderline RB1 in Week 13 against a surging Miami Dolphins defense that just held the Carolina Panthers rushing attack to 64 total yards in Sunday's win.

Saquon Barkley Active, Kadarius Toney Inactive

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Eagles, while wide receiver Kadarius Toney (quad) is out, as previously reported. Barkley saw 12 touches last week for 56 yards and definitely doesn't look like Barkley was expected to look, but he should find a little more space against the Eagles, who allow the ninth-most fantasy points per game to running backs. You should go ahead and play Barkley in all your redraft leagues, though he's someone you might avoid in DFS contests based on how he looked last week.

Nov 28th · 03:37 PM
Saquon Barkley To Be More Involved In Week 12?

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is looking like a better fantasy option in Week 12. With Freddie Kitchens taking over for the recently fired Jason Garrett, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport indicated that the newly appointed interim offensive coordinator will utilize a "more aggressive approach." As a result, Barkley may be more involved, with Kitchens making it a priority to get the superstar into open space against the visiting Eagles, a team that has struggled against the run this season.

Saquon Barkley Suiting Up On Sunday

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) is expected to play on Sunday despite being listed as questionable, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN. Barkley returned from a four-game absence last week but was held to just 56 yards on 12 touches against Tampa Bay. This Sunday, he faces off against the Eagles. Assuming he'll have a near-full workload, Barkley can be trusted as a low-end RB1.

Nov 26th · 09:12 PM
Saquon Barkley Questionable For Week 12

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) is listed as questionable for the Week 12 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Fantasy managers shouldn't be worried that Barkley will miss this game after he returned to 12 touches and 56 total yards in the Monday night loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 24-year-old didn't look all that great, but to be fair, he was facing a tough Bucs run defense after a long layoff. We expect the Giants to involve Barkley more in his second game back, and he should see plenty of targets through the air with receiver Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) out and wideout Kadarius Toney (quadriceps) and tight end Kyle Rudolph (ankle) doubtful to play. Barkley will be a high-end RB2/low-end RB1 against the Eagles this Sunday.

Nov 26th · 01:50 AM
Saquon Barkley Remains Limited Thursday

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. He was also limited in Wednesday's session after returning to action last Monday for the first time since Week 5. The 24-year-old logged 32 offensive snaps in the Week 11 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He rushed for 25 yards on six carries while catching all six of his targets for 31 yards. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation and check Friday's injury report, but barring a setback, Barkley is expected to play in Week 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles. This season, the Eagles allow the 15th most points to fantasy running backs, making Barkley a borderline RB1 in Week 12.

Nov 24th · 11:57 PM
Saquon Barkley Still Limited By Ankle

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) remained limited in practice on Wednesday despite returning on Monday night for the first time since Week 5. Barkley looked like a guy returning from a long layoff in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, handling just 12 total touches for 56 yards, albeit against a strong Bucs rush defense. The 24-year-old also wasn't helped by New York's bad offensive line. Barkley should get better each week he's removed from his ankle sprain, and he'll have a much better matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. They've allowed the ninth-most fantasy points per game to RBs this year. The Giants offensive line won't do Barkley many favors, but he should at least be considered a high-end RB2 this weekend.

Nov 23rd · 08:34 PM
Long Layoff Affecting Saquon Barkley Once Again?

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley said after Monday night's game that the long layoff has affected him after suffering an ankle injury all the way back in Week 5. "It's just a little frustrating to have to sit out again and feel like how I was in Week 1," Barkley said. He mentioned he will do whatever it takes to get back up to speed, so it may take him another couple of games to look like his usual self that he put on display in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints. The former second-overall pick wasn't given a full workload in his first game back, but an encouraging sign was that he played the majority of snaps over Devontae Booker. He has a favorable schedule down the stretch, so he should be more than capable of regaining his value as a fantasy RB1 in the next couple of weeks.

Nov 23rd · 11:20 AM
Saquon Barkley Logs Six Carries, Catches Six Passes In Return

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley rushed for 25 yards on six carries while catching all six of his targets for 31 yards in Monday's 30-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He logged 36 offensive snaps in his first appearance since Week 5. The Giants offense sputtered in Week 11 and managed just 10 points against Tampa Bay. Barkley was third on the team in receiving and racked up 56 total yards on 12 touches. The former No.2 overall pick now has 220 rushing yards on 60 attempts and two touchdowns while catching 20 passes for 161 yards and a score over six games in 2021. Barkley and the Giants' offense will look to bounce against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12.

Nov 23rd · 12:06 AM
Saquon Barkley Active Against Buccaneers

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) is officially active for Monday Night Football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Barkley came into the game listed as questionable, but he'll return to action for the first time since suffering a low ankle sprain in Week 5. Because of the long layoff, it's understandable to be skeptical of Barkley returning immediately to a full workload, which will make him a pretty volatile RB2 in fantasy to close out Week 11 action. Devontae Booker (hip), who was also questionable, is active and will likely soak up any backfield touches if Barkley needs to take a breather. On top of concerns about his workload, Barkley will be facing a Tampa run defense that has allowed the fewest rushing yards per game (79.8).

Nov 22nd · 11:16 AM
Saquon Barkley Expected To Play Monday Night

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (knee) is questionable for Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but is expected to play, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN. Barring a setback during pregame warmups, the star running back will return to action for the first time since sustaining a low-ankle sprain in the Week 5 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. This week, the former No. 2 overall pick was a limited participant in practice and appeared fully recovered from his ankle issue. Barkley has rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns while catching 14 passes for 130 yards and a score over five games in 2021. Backup Devontae Booker (hip) is also expected to play. Fantasy managers should check back on Monday night to ensure Barkley is active before inserting him into their starting lineups.

Nov 20th · 05:53 PM
Saquon Barkley Questionable For Monday Night

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for the Monday night game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Barkley was reportedly looking good in limited practices this week, but it remains to be seen if he'll actually return on Monday for the first time since Week 5 when he suffered a low ankle sprain. Fantasy managers considering returning Barkley to their starting lineups this week are in a bit of a tough spot. The 24-year-old appears to be trending towards a return, but there's a chance he could be on a snap count against a Tampa run defense that has allowed only 79.8 rushing yards per game (second-fewest in the NFL). Barkley is shaping up as a volatile RB2 for Week 11. If he misses another game, Devontae Booker (hip), who is also questionable, would be in line for most of the backfield work. Elijhaa Penny and Gary Brightwell would be in line for more work if Barkley and Booker are both inactive, which is unlikely.

Nov 20th · 12:58 AM
Saquon Barkley, Devontae Booker Limited Friday

New York Giants running backs Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Devontae Booker (hip) were both limited in practice for the second straight day this week on Friday. Barkley has been impressing the Giants in practice coming out of the bye week and looks to be on track to return for the first time since Week 5 for a Monday night showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 24-year-old would be returning to face a stiff Bucs rush defense while also potentially having his snaps limited while sharing touches with Booker, who has been a solid RB2 in the right matchups with Barkley sidelined. If Barkley is a true game-time decision this week, fantasy managers will need to have a backup plan with the game being on Monday night. And if Barkley is active, he'll be more of an RB2 than a sure-thing RB1.

Saquon Barkley Limited In Practice

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited in practice on Thursday and the Giants have seen good things from him coming out of their bye week. The superstar was originally thought to be on track for a quick return, but his ankle's swelling has taken longer than expected to heal. Now, however, the 24-year-old seems to be on track to play Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In addition to concerns regarding his injury limiting him if he does play in Week 11, the Buccaneers are a notoriously difficult defense to run against, so it may be best to bench Barkley in shallow leagues in favor of comparable alternatives. With that said, Barkley is so talented that in standard leagues he will be an RB2 and should be started.

Nov 15th · 09:42 PM
Saquon Barkley Nearing A Return?

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) was seen cutting during workouts on Monday and was able to do all of the individual drills in practice. Barkley looked explosive and was comfortable. Coming off their bye week, the 24-year-old looks to have a chance at playing in Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Monday night. Coming off a torn ACL that caused him to miss most of last season, Barkley was eased in this year and then suffered a low ankle sprain that has kept him out since Week 5. It remains to be seen if he'll be on a pitch count if he returns this week, but his fantasy managers just want to see him back on the field. Devontae Booker has been a solid RB2 with Barkley sidelined, but he figures to return to a backup role once Barkley is a full go.

Saquon Barkley Expected To Miss Week 9

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle), recently activated off the Reserve/COVID-19 list, is not expected to be ruled out this week against the Raiders later on Friday. Barkley returned to the facility after his false-positive test- though he was unable to practice Friday, as his injured ankle remains an issue. The star halfback is likely to be ruled out later today, as reported by NJ Advance Media's Zack Rosenblatt, a move that makes sense with the Week 10 bye coming up. Devontae Booker is trending towards another start as the lead back for New York against his former team, the Raiders. Las Vegas has allowed the 12th-most fantasy points per game to opposing halfbacks, putting Booker, who has seen at least 15 touches in every start sans Barkley, squarely in the RB2 discussion.

Nov 5th · 01:01 PM
Saquon Barkley Returns To Team Facility Friday

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) had a false-positive COVID-19 test on Wednesday and returned to the team's facility Friday. He still has yet to practice this week and is expected to miss his fourth straight game due to a low-ankle sprain. The Giants have a bye in Week 10, and New York will be careful with their star running back. Fantasy managers can expect to be without Barkley for Sunday's matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Devontae Booker has been solid filling in for Barkley over the last four games. He rushed for 194 yards on 54 attempts and two touchdowns while catching 14 passes for 124 yards and a score during that span. The Raiders allow 19.4 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, ranking 26th overall. Booker is a mid-range RB2 and should see heavy usage against Las Vegas in Week 9 if Barkley is ruled out. Stay tuned.

Nov 4th · 09:38 PM
Saquon Barkley Not Looking Good For A Week 9 Return

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley's (knee) false-positive COVID-19 result has kept him out of practice for the last two days, and head coach Joe Judge didn't sound optimistic when discussing the running back's chances of returning in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. "I wouldn't eliminate it," Judge said, "but it's not moving in a direction to give us a definite answer in a positive way." On top of it, Barkley is still rehabbing a low ankle sprain and is trending toward missing his fourth straight game. Devontae Booker should continue to see most of New York's backfield touches alongside Elijhaa Penny, giving him RB2 appeal for at least one more week.

Nov 3rd · 11:06 PM
Saquon Barkley On COVID-19 List Despite Negative Test

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was retested for COVID-19 after initially testing positive, and his test on Wednesday came back negative. However, the Giants officially placed Barkley and defensive back Xavier McKinney on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday. The 24-year-old was already set to miss practice on Wednesday due to a low ankle sprain that has kept him out of action since Week 5. There's a chance Barkley will be cleared from the COVID-19 protocols if he submits another negative test, but there's still no guarantee that he'll play in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders due to his ankle injury. And with the Giants on bye in Week 10, they'll likely play things safe. It's looking like another week of Devontae Booker leading New York's backfield as an RB2 in fantasy.

Nov 3rd · 04:25 PM
Saquon Barkley Tests Positive For COVID-19

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley tested positive for COVID-19 on his initial test on Wednesday, according to a source. He will be retested. Barkley is vaccinated, so he will need two negative tests within 24 hours and no symptoms in order to be cleared to play in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. But Barkley is also still dealing with a low ankle sprain and hasn't played since Week 5, so this casts even more doubt on his possible return. With the Giants having their bye in Week 10, it's looking more likely that Barkley will miss yet another game. Devontae Booker had a big game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night and will be a usage-based RB2 yet again this Sunday if Barkley is ruled out.

Nov 3rd · 04:19 PM
No Saquon Barkley On Wednesday

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) wasn't seen at the portion of practice open to the media on Wednesday, but head coach Joe Judge also said that he wouldn't rule Barkley out of the Week 9 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Barkley is hoping to return this weekend, but the Giants also could be cautious and hold him out one more game with their bye coming next week. The 24-year-old suffered a low ankle sprain in Week 5 and hasn't played since, giving backup Devontae Booker RB2 upside with increased usage. Even if Barkley returns to practice later this week and plays against the Raiders, he'll be a shaky RB1 at risk of having his snaps limited after the long layoff.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
