Van Jefferson Scores In Week 13

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson saw his role continue to grow and finished with a great outing against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 13. Jefferson caught six of his eight targets for 41 yards and a score. This was just the second game this season for Jefferson where he finished with more than four catches, and it was his sixth game in a row with at least six targets and three receptions. Jefferson is firmly locked into this offense right now, and he's seeing a healthy volume of targets every week that has him safely in the flex category for fantasy lineups.

Van Jefferson - Week 13 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson has remained the WR3 in this offense, but he has a solid amount of flex value in Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jefferson has seen at least six targets in seven of his last nine games, including in each of his last five outings. The main thing that's holding him back right now has been his role as a deep-ball receiver rather than seeing targets closer to the line of scrimmage. Against Jacksonville, Jefferson could see an uptick in his overall workload with teammate Odell Beckham Jr. (hip) dealing with an injury. Jefferson has a great matchup against the Jaguars, who are 32nd in DVOA against the pass, but he's still in the high-end flex category for this week.

Van Jefferson Comes Up Short In Week 10

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson saw a fair amount of targets in Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, but he couldn't do much with them. Jefferson caught three of his seven targets for 54 yards. Jefferson nearly caught a touchdown in the corner of the end zone, but along with the rest of the team's pass-catchers, he was struggling with drops and had two or three on the night. Jefferson was second on the team in targets and yards, but he'll likely stay in the WR3 role that he's held all year once new teammate Odell Beckham Jr. is integrated into the offense. Jefferson will have WR4/flex value on a weekly basis due in large part to his ability to hit big plays down the field.

Van Jefferson Gets Locked Up In Week 9

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson is firmly entrenched as the team's No. 3 receiver behind Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods, but he couldn't do much with it against the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. Jefferson caught just three of his seven targets for 41 yards on the day. Jefferson is certainly intriguing in this Los Angeles offense, but he'll bounce between being the third or fourth option in the passing game on a weekly basis with tight end Tyler Higbee. Jefferson is likely going to become the deep option in this offense, so fantasy managers will be hoping that he capitalizes with a big play each week. The second-year wideout will have some big games, but for the most part, he'll be a volatile WR4/flex.

Van Jefferson - Week 9 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson officially became the team's WR3 earlier this week when wideout DeSean Jackson was waived, and Jefferson has a great matchup to take advantage of in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have given up the second-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts, and they'll likely be focused on slowing down Jefferson's teammates Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods (foot), if Woods even ends up playing. Jefferson ranks third on the team in targets and he's seen at least four targets in every game since Week 3. Jefferson isn't the best option for fantasy lineups this week, but he certainly has some upside in this matchup and could be a possible flex play, especially if Woods is inactive or limited.

Van Jefferson - Week 8 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson has been building some momentum over the last few weeks, and he has a great matchup in Week 8 against the Houston Texans to keep that rolling. Jefferson has seen at least three targets in every game this season, and he's seen at least four targets in every game since Week 3. The Rams offense has put up at least 20 points in every game this season, and Jefferson is currently tied for third on the team in targets. Outside of teammates Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, no other receiver has more than 15 targets. Jefferson is a safe flex option on a week-to-week basis, especially if you're dealing with byes, injuries or brutal matchups.

Van Jefferson Finds The End Zone In Week 7

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson has cemented his role as the third wide receiver in this offense with his performance in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions. Jefferson caught four of his seven targets for 43 yards and a score, with his touchdown coming in the second quarter when quarterback Matthew Stafford lobbed up a ball to him in the corner of the end zone that he managed to come down with. Jefferson's seven targets were third on the team overall and second among wideouts. With teammates Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods often drawing the more difficult matchups from opposing cornerbacks, Jefferson can take advantage of his situation. He's seen at least three targets in every game this season, and he's seen four or more targets in every game since Week 3. He's an occasional flex option with bye weeks continuing.

Van Jefferson Scores In Week 4

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson took a couple of weeks off in terms of production, but he made some noise in his Week 4 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Jefferson caught all six of his targets for 90 yards and a touchdown. Jefferson was tied for second on the team with six targets on the day, and it was the second week in a row that he has seen at least six targets. This Rams offense generates touches for everyone, and that's what makes it difficult to predict for fantasy outside of No. 1 option Cooper Kupp. Jefferson is surely one to watch in this offense, but it might take an injury to one of Kupp or Robert Woods for him to become a realistic every-week play in fantasy.

Van Jefferson Finds The End Zone In Week 1

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson didn't see a ton of work in Week 1, but he made the most of his limited opportunities against the Chicago Bears. Jefferson saw just three targets on the day, but he caught two of them for 80 yards and a touchdown, including a big 67-yard score that gave the Rams their first score of the Matthew Stafford era. Jefferson remains buried on the depth chart behind studs Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods, along with targets for DeSean Jackson, but he will still see some work. If any of those three players were to go down, Jefferson would immediately enter the weekly flex conversation and be a popular waiver-wire target.

Van Jefferson Has High Expectations For Year 2

The Los Angeles Rams have a lot of talented wide receivers in their stable, and one that they're expecting to take a big step forward is second-year man Van Jefferson. Jefferson caught 19 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown last year in a crowded room as a rookie. Heading into Year 2, the staff has had a lot of good things to say about him. Head coach Sean McVay said, "You can see he's really put the work in, and he's come back establishing himself as a legitimate dude, a guy that we're counting on for big things." That's some high praise and expectation, considering the other guys in their receiver room. With DeSean Jackson leading the charge for the third wide receiver spot, Jefferson's role and workload will be worth watching in training camp.

Van Jefferson Continuing To Impress In Rams Camp

Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver Van Jefferson has earned praise from coaches and teammates so far in training camp this year. Star defensive tackle Aaron Donald recently told reporters that Jefferson would "definitely make an impact in this league right away." Jefferson is a 24-year-old rookie who was a second round draft pick of the team this year. Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods are the clear top two receivers on the team and Josh Reynolds projects to at least open the season as the team's No. 3, but Jefferson is next in the pecking order and is someone who is certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Sep 1st · 01:51 AM
Van Jefferson To See Increased Reps In Camp

Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver Van Jefferson will begin to see increased reps in camp this week as WR1 Cooper Kupp is dealing with a muscle strain. Jefferson has shined throughout camp thus far, even garnering praise from QB Jared Goff for his great route-running and catching abilities. The 24-year-old was drafted in the second round out of Florida, where he grabbed 49 receptions, 657 yards, and six touchdowns in his final year last season. As of now, Jefferson should be considered the WR4 on the team, but his fantasy value could certainly increase during the season if he sees more playing time or another receiver has to deal with an injury. Right now, he's best considered a late-round flier in very deep leagues.

May 21st · 09:30 PM
Van Jefferson May Struggle For Immediate Role

Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver Van Jefferson, a second-round pick, could play more than Josh Reynolds in the long run, but Reynolds should have an immediate role in 2020 as an outside receiver now that Brandin Cooks is out of town. Jefferson did his best work in college on the inside, but the Rams already have Cooper Kupp out of the slot and two strong tight ends in Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett. Don't automatically assume that Jefferson will see more targets than Reynolds, as the Rams have confidence that Reynolds can step in and help make up for the loss of Cooks. Jefferson is a dynamic route-runner, but temper expectations for him in his rookie season in redraft leagues.

Rams Go With More Offense In Van Jefferson

The Los Angeles Rams drafted Florida wide receiver Van Jefferson with the No. 57 overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft on Friday. The Rams took running back Cam Akers with their first pick of this year's draft, and now they go with a wideout to help quarterback Jared Goff bounce back from his rough 2019 season. Jefferson is 6-foot-2, 200 pounds and gets great releases off the line of scrimmage and is a polished route-runner. He'll help replace Brandin Cooks, who was traded to the Texans, but Josh Reynolds will have something to say about that as the No. 3 receiver behind Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods.

Are NFL Trade Rumor Covered in the Player News?
Yes! As you can see from this Julio Jones write up from his player page, we updated his news section as soon as the news broke.
“The Atlanta Falcons are not expected to trade quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, according to sources. “The Falcons have not had any trade conversations about Ryan or their star wide receiver Julio Jones. And every expectation is both players are going to be on the roster in 2021,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said. New head coach Arthur Smith plans to run a similar offense to the one Kyle Shanahan used when Ryan won MVP in 2016. Atlanta would be on the hook for more than $44 million in dead money in 2021 if they traded Ryan before June 1. Atlanta may decide to take Ryan’s heir-apparent at No. 4 overall in the draft, but the 35-year-old signal-caller is expected to stay put for at least another season. Ryan and Jones got it going to end the regular season and could be in line for bounce-back campaigns under Smith in 2021. Consider Ryan a midrange QB1 heading into next season.”
