Despite the Dallas Cowboys clinching a playoff spot for the first time since 2018 thanks to the Niners loss last night, receiver Amari Cooper still isn’t particularly happy.

The star wideout spoke on how the offense has taken a step back since their electric start to the season. And he thinks his workload should be higher.

On Thursday, Amari Cooper was asked is he was frustrated with the recent struggles with the offense moving the ball.

“I got to be honest, it actually does,” he said during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan . “Because, yeah, we’re winning, but the defense is playing a huge part in that. We’re not really as explosive as we should be. We’re not converting a lot of their turnovers into touchdowns. A lot of them are field goals. And I feel like I could be a huge part of that, so that’s what frustrates me.

“I think I can do more in the red zone if I get some targets. I can do more on third down if I get the targets. To help the offense be what we need to be, I think I can definitely help change that.”

Amari Cooper missed two weeks due to being unvaccinated when he was placed on the COVID list recently. His frustrations are warranted, sure. Dallas is going to need to be better offensively if they’re going to make a Super Bowl this season. But the way he went about his answer kind of bothered me.

Instead of lamenting the job the defense has don’t in winning games recently – getting Dallas back to the playoffs – Cooper opted to make the whole thing about himself.

At the end of the day, there is nothing wrong with winning ugly in December. And if the Cowboys can prove that they can beat teams in multiple different ways, that’s only going to make them more of a threat come playoffs time.

For now, Amari Cooper should keep his frustrations with not getting the ball as much as he’d like in-house, especially when the team keeps on winning.
