Brian Flores Reacts After Getting Surprisingly Fired By Dolphins

An unexpected name will be left looking for a job in the NFL on Black Monday: Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores.

During his tenure in Miami, Brian Flores had the team in the conversation in the AFC East, including a 10-6 record last season followed by a 9-8 record in 2021.

After the news was announced, the widely-respected head coach released a statement.

“I want to thank the Miami Dolphins organization for the opportunity to be the head coach of this team for the last three seasons,” Flores said. “It was an honor to represent the franchise and lead this group of men. I am grateful most of all for the players, coaches and support staff who gave everything they had on a daily basis to help us win games. They deserve the credit for any success on the field, and it was the honor of a lifetime for me to go to work with them every day.

“I have always believed that leadership is really about service, and I did my best to serve the players, the staff and the organization every day. I believe in this team and will always value the relationships my family and I made here.”

While everyone in and around football are undoubtedly scratching their heads with Miami’s decision regarding Brian Flores, perhaps he should feel relieved.

Flores is coming out of a year where he turned a 1-7 football team around – leading them to a winning record by the end of the season. And maybe he’ll be better off taking his impressive resume elsewhere. The Dolphins are showing their incompetence by sticking with their GM and QB Tua Tagovailoa over the most successful head coach they’ve had in the past decade.

Brian Flores will land on his feet just fine. But Dolphins fans should be utterly concerned that their team’s ownership has no idea what they’re doing.
