Bucs GM Jason Licht Talks Tom Brady Extension

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are all in on Tom Brady now more than ever. Tom Brady signed a two-year contract with the Buccaneers in 2020, which means he’s secured through the 2021 season. Tom will hit free agency at the age of 45. If they give him an extension, that means Tom can play into his late 40’s.

“It’s a possibility,” Licht said. “He certainly didn’t look like he slowed down any this year. That’s a possibility and we’ll have to see how that goes. . . . It appears that he really had a good time this year winning the Super Bowl. Likes our organization, likes our coaches, likes our head coach and ownership and we certainly love him. Usually when you have those two things going for each other, it’s a match made in heaven so we’d like to keep this going.”

At some point Father Time will defeat Tom Brady. He’s the GOAT, but he’s human.

If Tom continues to play at this level, and the O-Line can keep him safe, I totally get the extension talk.

Should be fun to watch Tom continue to defy odds.
