Chad Johnson Calls Out Conor McGregor Following Boxing Debut

The Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul card on Sunday night was filled with a lot of low-action fights. But there was a lot of intrigue in how former NFL receiver Chad Johnson would look during his debut in the ring.

Johnson held his own, but was ultimately knocked out in the eighth and final round by Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship veteran Brian Maxwell.

While he may have taken the L, Chad Johnson was proud of how he felt in the ring, and vowed that he would be back.

“My life has always been about taking chances and doing crazy stuff — this was on my bucket list,” Johnson said per ESPN. “This was a message to everyone out there: Don’t be scared to take chances. Don’t be afraid to fail. It’s OK.”

After the bout, Chad Johnson had another opponent in mind. This time he’s setting his sights pretty high.

“I think I’m ready for McGregor,” Johnson declared via The Spun.

Chad Johnson isn’t the first guy to call out Conor McGregor for an exhibition boxing match. Jake Paul has attempted to pull “The Notorious One” into the ring many times with a series of taunting videos and social media posts.

So far, McGregor has kept his mind on winning back another UFC championship belt.

After a disappointing loss to Dustin Poirier, McGregor has booked a trilogy fight with him for a date in July. If Conor McGregor can take care of Poirier this time, I highly doubt the UFC superstar will be involved in an exhibition boxing match with Chad Johnson or anyone else.

Maybe someday, though.
