College Football Star Ladarius Clardy Dead After More Than 50 Shots Fired at His Car

Another fallen star taken way too soon. According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, college football player Ladarius Clardy was shot and killed in Pensacola, Fla. last week. So far no arrests had been made. Sheriff Chip W. Simmons said more than 50 gunshots had been fired at the vehicle and that Clardy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Simmons said, “The injuries that Ladarius Clardy suffered ultimately took his life.”

“We are devastated and heartbroken over the death of Ladarius Clardy,” Kennesaw State University head football coach Brian Bohannon said in a statement. “Ladarius was an excellent teammate and left a mark on this program with his positive attitude. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ladarius’ family at this difficult time.”

According to his bio, Clardy was a quarterback at Kennesaw State University. “He had a bright athletic history,” Simmons said, “and he had a bright athletic future.”
