Conor McGregor Informs Fans That He Will Not Be Ready For September Fight

Fans who were hoping to see a fourth bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier soon will probably be disappointed.

After he suffered a freak ankle injury in the last fight against Poirier, McGregor took to social media to reveal that he will not be ready for a fight any time in the near future.

“Guys, the September date is too early for me. I am still in recovery,” Conor McGregor said on Twitter. “My docs/physical therapy team out here advice me to stay. I reckon late October at earliest. But maybe November/December too. It is hard to say at this time a concrete date. But I’m in! Wait for me please!”

After the Dustin Poirier fight ended with a gruesome leg injury for Conor McGregor, UFC president Dana White revealed that there would be a fourth Poirier-McGregor card because ‘you can’t end like that’.

Following McGregor’s revelation today, it might make more sense if Dustin Poirier gets a chance to fight for a title before we can start to talk about another McGregor superfight.

Another Dustin Poirier-Conor McGregor fight will probably happen in the future. But fans might have to wait a little bit longer before we can see “The Notorious” back in the octagon again.
