Conor McGregor Says Trilogy Fight With Dustin Poirier Is Off After Charity Money Dispute

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier appeared to have a strong mutual respect during their last fight, when Poirier pulled off the wild upset over the outspoken Irishman. Now, it looks like some bad blood has spilled into the rivalry.

Dustin Poirier took to Twitter to call out McGregor for never paying the money he guaranteed to Poirier’s charity.

McGregor responded, claiming that he was only waiting to figure out exactly where the money was going before he forked it over.

After a few more back-and-forths on social media, Conor McGregor now says the July 10th trilogy fight with Poirier is ‘off’.

“You’re ripped you inbred hillbilly. Why do you wink with your ears? You fucking brain dead hillbilly. 500k with no plan in place. Ye hang tight. Fool. You must be new to money. The fight is off btw. I’m going to fight someone else on the 10th. Good luck on your old contract kid,” McGregor announced on his Twitter.

This kind of seems like classic McGregor doing his thing to add hype and money to a fight.

He hasn’t done the whole show where he lashes out at an opponent and creates a media firestorm since he last fought Khabib. Deep down, McGregor has to know that Poirier is the fight for him right now. At least let’s hope that’s what he’s doing here. The thing about Conor McGregor, is that nobody really ever knows whats going through his head.

Something tells me we’ll be seeing McGregor-Poirier 3 in July despite all this noise.
