76ers Move To Hire Damian Lillard’s Longtime Trainer Leads To Speculation

Despite the fact that Damian Lillard has said he does not currently have any plans to demand a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers, he has still been tied to a couple different teams.

When Lillard denied the rumors that he was going to request a trade, he also maintained his desire to win a championship. And he doesn’t think the team assembled around him is good enough to do so.

This leaves the door open that Dame might ask for a trade sometime in the future, and Stephen A. Smith thinks the superstar has the New York Knicks in mind.

Despite Damian Lillard’s reported desire to join Tom Thibodeau’s squad in New York, they re-signed point guard Derrick Rose and also acquired  Kemba Walker to hold down the fort for now.

Perhaps there’s an even biggest fit in Philly, and Daryl Morey would likely have interest in acquiring Lillard if/when Ben Simmons is dealt.

To further the Lillard to Philly speculation, the Sixers have now hired Dame’s longtime trainer, Phil Beckner, as a coaching consultant.

Fans immediately thought this was a move by Philly to try to make a push for Damian Lillard.

It doesn’t seem like Damian Lillard will be traded before the start of next season.

But when things start going south for the Trail Blazers, don’t be surprised if Lillard begins the process of asking to get the hell out of there.

Philadelphia would go up in flames if they were to acquire Damian Lillard.
