A Former Chicago Bears Player Adds Fuel To The Russell Wilson Fire With ‘Massive Splash’ Comment

Chicago Bears fans are losing their minds after it was reporter earlier today that Russell Wilson was ‘intrigued’ by Matt Nagy and the team’s offensive line.

As if Twitter wasn’t already buzzing in Chicago from that story, a former player is adding to the hype. Ex-Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long took to social media to share his belief that something big is brewing.

“Something tells me the bears are gonna make a massive splash (in a good way) the fans deserve it,” Long wrote on Thursday.

While fans thought maybe Long had some intel on the Russell Wilson situation, it appears that he was just sharing a hunch.

The Chicago Bears have literally never had a true franchise quarterback since Sid Luckman in the 1940s. Russell Wilson (or Deshaun Watson for that matter) would change all of that.

As a Bears fan, it’s kind of hard for me to get my hopes up. We’re all just wired to think the team will let us down. Also, trading for Russell Wilson or Deshaun Watson would require sending a monster package away, and I’m not sure the Bears have the resources for that.

Time will tell on whether the Bears front office have something up their sleeve, or if it’ll just be more of the same for the team.
