Henry Ruggs was charged with DUI resulting in the horrific death of 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog.
Not many people came to his defense, especially when they found out the details of his crash. Specifically just how fast he was traveling at the time of impact.
One NFL player did however back him up on Twitter.
We youngâŠ..everybody make mistakesâŠ.yâall lookin at the situation like âthis or thatâ kuz it ainât yâallâŠhaving so much too say….he know he messed up donât drag em for itâŠâŠthatâs goofy to meâŠ.just pray for the families involved đđœđŻ

Toney received plenty of backlash, but didn’t back down. He left the tweet up.
There was no apology.
Toney was asked about his Ruggs tweet:
âLike I said, pray for the families involved,â Toney said when asked about the tweets. âPray for the families. That was clearly stated in there. I donât know how everything else came about. Take it how you want it.â
As the questions persisted, Toney became more agitated.
âLike I just said, pray for the families involved. Why are you drilling the same question? Iâm not going to answer that. Come one. I donât got time for this,â Toney barked.
Things changed direction for a moment but eventually circled back to the tweets. Again, Toney was visibly irritated.
Joe Judge spoke with Kadarius Toney about his tweet regarding Henry Ruggs III. Does Toney regret the tweet?

âI mean, thereâs going to be attention anyway just because of who I am, I guess, with anything I say,â Toney said. âReally from Joe, itâs more so say what youâve got to say, and mean what you say. At the end of the day, you shouldnât have to go back and clarify anything that you say, which Iâm not doing here.
âLike I said, pray for the families involved. How could you regret having empathy for both sides? I donât really get it.â
Head coach Joe Judge previously insisted Toney was coming from a good place, but acknowledged the message may have been skewed a bit on social media.
âI talked to Kadarius. Itâs important that we understand how we articulate our words and put them out there,â Judge said. âUltimately, our prayers are with everybody. This is a situation no one wants to see happen to anybody. No one wants to be in this situation. While no one is in any way, shape or form dismissing the consequences at all, itâs horrible on both sides. Itâs absolutely horrible. As some players on the Raiders and Derek Carr have voiced, as well, itâs a terrible incident. Youâve just got to make sure that you still have prayers for everybody involved. The important thing is we articulate our words and we watch what we say at the same time.â
Judge will probably have to have another talk with Toney.
