Hideki Matsuyama Wins Masters To Become First Ever Japanese Male To Win A PGA Major

With Hideki Matsuyama’s victory at the Masters he becomes the first Japanese male to win a PGA Major. Matsuyama won the tournament by one stroke over internet sensation Will Zalatoris. He tapped in for bogey on the 18th hole Sunday to dawn the coveted green jacket.

Hideki Matsuyama entered the final round on Sunday with a four stroke lead but continued to watch the field gain strokes during the round. Matsuyama had a bit of a scare bogeying 13 and 15 which saw Xander Schauffele come within two strokes. Unfortunately for Schauffele, that’s when the wheel fell off as he went on to triple bogey the 16 and end the tournament three strokes back.
