Former 1st overall pick in 2016, Jared Goff and some picks, were sent to the Detroit Lions for the 2009 first overall pick Matthew Stafford this off-season.

No doubt the Rams thought they had a Super Bowl caliber team and knew they were missing that key piece, a trustworthy, competent QB. So they made the decision to move on from their former first overall pick, the one they gave a $134 million contract to just years prior.

With the two teams playing on Sunday, Jay Glazer reported that Jared Goff had hung up the phone on Rams coach Sean McVay after he told him that he was traded.

While it was obvious that McVay didn’t love his QB situation with Goff, it’s been quite obvious in the early going his feelings about Stafford; the man is in love.

Stafford has lead the Rams to a 6-1 record after defeating the visiting Lions 28-19.

The Lions dropped to 0-7 on the season as many suspect that the Lions might be eyeing a QB in the 2022 draft.

Stafford threw for 334 yards and 3 TDS, while Goff threw for 268 yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs.
