New York Mets infielder Javier Baez took to social media to send one final message to fans after the thumbs down gesture resulted in media firestorm

Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez and Mets star Francisco Lindor have become great friends over the years, and with Baez possibly on the move, we could be seeing the pair team up.

Baez and Lindor are both from Puerto Rico, and have played with each other in the World Baseball Classic.

With the Trade Deadline looming and no contract extension coming for Baez, he revealed that he would like to team up with Lindor on the New York Mets.

“If I go to the free agency, I would like to play with Francisco Lindor,” Javier Baez said.  “I loved playing with him in the World Classic. It is the only option I would take to play second base if it is to play with him, otherwise I stay playing at shortstop.”

Javier Baez and Francisco Lindor are two of the most exciting players in all of baseball, and seeing them team up would be pretty cool.

Lindor got off too a rough start, but was starting to get hot before an oblique injury acted up on him. Baez, on the other hand, is someone who can carry a baseball team. But he suffers from swinging at any pitch remotely near the strike zone, and will never be a high average guy.

It’ll be interesting to see if any team breaks the bank to sign Javier Baez. Perhaps Francisco Lindor will get the Mets to be that team.
