Jay Williams Responds To Kevin Durant Saying His Story Was A ‘F***ing Lie’

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant called out ESPN’s Jay Williams on Tuesday after Williams claimed that KD singled him out at a party to tell not not to ever compare him to Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“We had Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant,” Williams said. “I said ‘You know what? If Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant had a baby, the similarities, physicality wise, would be like Giannis.’ I go to the holiday part, Kevin Durant comes up to me and says ‘Yo, don’t you ever compare me to Giannis.’”

After letting social media blow up on Tuesday, Jay Williams said during his show on Wednesday that he ‘stands by’ his story.

“I stand by my story,” Williams said. “I was probably wrong for sharing a personal story, but that’s what we do we share personal stories. But yesterday I sat there, I’m not going back and forth on social media. I was with my family all day staying positive, it’s all good. It was meant as a compliment, there are levels to this.”

Jay Williams would go on to say that he has nothing for respect for Kevin Durant, and that he hopes he’s able to win a championship this season.

We may honestly never know if this story actually happened or not. But Jay Williams and Kevin Durant appear to be locked into standing by their guns.

If I had to speculate, I’d say there’s probably some truth to Jay Williams’ story. Seems like a hard thing to completely make up, I don’t know…
