MLB Writer Jeff Passan Trending For His Take On The Braves’ “Tomahawk Chop”

Count ESPN’s Jeff Passan among the long list of people in or around baseball who have seen enough of the Atlanta Braves’ “tomahawk chop”.

The World Series will shift to Atlanta on Friday night, which means that that fans will be packing the stadium and doing their chopping antics in unison on and off for the duration of the game.

While some don’t see the action as disrespectful to Native Americans, others think Braves fans shouldn’t be allowed to openly engage in the childish action.

Jeff Passan went on a whole Twitter tirade on Friday to explain while he’ll be shaking his head when he sees fans doing the “tomahawk chop” this week.

Fans had a mixed reaction to Jeff Passan’s take on the tomahawk chop – with Braves fans getting pretty defensive on the matter.

Jeff Passan will undoubtedly be public enemy #1 for Braves fans who won’t ever stop chopping.

My take on the whole thing is that the chop looks pretty silly anyways, and should probably be stopped regardless of how offensive it is. But for Atlanta fans, they think its cool, and they’re gonna stick with it for as long as possible.

There will be plenty of tomahawk-choppin’ going on Friday for World Series game three. And Jeff Passan is using his platform to try to lay the groundwork for the whole thing to come to an end in the near future.

Good luck.
