Jerry Jones Agrees With Michael Irvin’s Comments On Unvaccinated Players

Jerry Jones’ Cowboys are currently not one of the 13 NFL teams who have reached the 85% COVID vaccination threshold to be granted relaxed protocols by the league.

Earlier in the week, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin lashed out at the players who have opted against getting the vaccine, saying that they aren’t serious about winning a Super Bowl.

“Dude, you’re not thinking right. I don’t give a damn. Nothing else can be more important,” Irvin told the Star-Telegram. “You’re not going to get this [winning a Super Bowl] easily. And not being one of the [vaccinated teams] says there’s other things to a great number of people on this team that are more important than winning championships and that makes me worried.”

During Jerry Jones’ press conference on Wednesday, he agreed with Michael Irvin’s take on the unvaccinated players.

“I thought it was an outstanding message,” Jones said via Yahoo.

Jerry Jones would also say that he’s confident the team will reach the 85% vaccination rate.

“From the standpoint of the players — what I call in the pipeline [have been vaccinated or are waiting for one or waiting for the second shot, etc.] — we have just a handful of players who have yet to [do so],” said a confident Jones. “…And a handful means five.”

Jerry Jones knows that his team has a better chance to win (even if slightly) if they don’t have to deal with COVID protocols for the entire season.

The hands-on Cowboys owner is also sure to be in players’ ears about taking the vaccine when Training Camp starts this week.

If you’re a Cowboys player, you definitely do not want to be one of few guys who are going against Jerry Jones’ wishes. I wouldn’t be surprised if the team hits the 85% sooner rather than later.
