Jonathan Toews Expected To Return To Blackhawks Next Season

Well, this is great news for Blackhawks fans. Captain Jonathan Toews is apparently progressing well with a mysterious illness that has kept him out for the entire 2020-21 season, and he is expected to return to the team next season.

“The good news is that his health is getting better. As long as he stays headed in the right direction He should be healthy & ready to return to the Blackhawks next season. It has been a very challenging year for the captain of the Blackhawks,” TSN’s Darren Dreger said of Toews.

Jonathan Toews revealed that he was feeling ‘lathargic’ before the season started, and felt it was best if he stepped away from the game to get his health in order. This bizarre illness led to much speculation amongst the Blackhawks community, and many fans feared he might be done forever.

Fortunately, it’s looking like that will not be the case.

Darren Dreger would also state the obvious, that Toews will likely not return for the end of this season.

The Blackhawks have clearly missed Jonathan Toews’ presence both on the ice and in the locker room this season. Surprisingly to many, the Hawks were battling for a playoff spot for most of the season, but have fizzled in recent weeks.
Toews’ return, coupled with a young team, could be reason for optimism that the Blackhawks might be closer to getting back to competing in the Central Division than most seem to think.
