NFL Fans have Jokes After 49ers Announce Release Of Former First-Rounder Josh Rosen

Since being drafted in the first round by the Arizona Cardinals, former UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen has had a tough go in the NFL.

He has been chewed up and spit out by team after team. And after Tuesday’s news, he’ll be looking to catch on with his fifth team in just four seasons.

It was announced this afternoon that the 49ers were releasing Josh Rosen.

Social media is piling it on Josh Rosen after it was announced that he would be looking for a new home, yet again.

Like many quarterbacks, Josh Rosen was a cocky sonofabitch when he fell to #10 in the NFL Draft. But unlike a lot of guys, Rosen never backed up his talk.

He was passed up on after just one year in Arizona, and has yet to find a permanent role, even as a backup.

The Niners gave Josh Rosen a lot of snaps in their preseason game last week, so he should have some looks from teams around the league looking for a backup or third string QB. But this is definitely not the career trajectory we were expecting a few years ago.
