Kobe Bryant Rookie Card Sells for Record Amount

Kobe Bryant tragically passed away more than a year ago, and the price of his rookie card has skyrocketed ever since. $1,795,800. That was the final price for a 1996-97 Topps Chrome Refractors Kobe Bryant that sold through Goldin Auctions. Graded a BGS 10 Pristine Black Label, it’s the most ever for a Kobe Bryant card.

In March, 2016, the exact same copy of the card sold for $58,100 on eBay. Kobe wasn’t the only basketball card to pass the million-dollar mark in Goldin’s 2021 Winter Auction.
