LeBron James Is Making A Number Switch After First Round Exit In NBA Playoffs

Tell me this doesn’t sound a little like the Michael Jordan number switch from 45 back to 23 when he returned from his stint playing baseball? On Wednesday, Akron, Ohio, native LeBron James announced that he was making a number switch, and changing from jersey number 23 to 6 for next season.

James is trying to ignite the warrior in him and to elevate Lakers fan who were no doubt disappointed with their team’s first round exit to the Phoenix Suns in six games. The Lakers, who were early season favorites to repeat as NBA Champions, were relegated to the play-in games and fell to the seventh seed after injuries forced James to miss 27 games. Anthony Davis had been also dealing with some injuries and missed a couple games down the stretch.

LeBron is said rumored to be wearing the famous number 6, the number he wore when he played for the Miami Heat, in the upcoming movie “Space Jam: A New Legacy.”

There is no doubt that this Lakers team is very terrifying, but LeBron James is not getting any younger. While he still put up amazing numbers this season averaging 25 points with 7.7 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game. It seems that the bigger issues for this team are keeping their two All-Stars healthy.
