Limp Bizkit’s John Otto Is Taking His Talents To Online Gaming!

While the pandemic may have caused musicians to postpone or cancel their tours/concerts, John Otto hasn’t let that stop him from ‘performing’ in some way, shape or form. The Limp Bizkit drummer – who is currently at home due to the band having to postpone their own tour – has started his own Twitch channel (which launches live in the coming weeks publicly) and has been getting ready to take on some of his famous friends in games while his fans cheer him/them on.

We exclusively caught up with John for an inside look at his love of gaming, comparisons of gaming vs. music, and his upcoming predictions for the NBA/NFL seasons.

Sideaction:  You have made it in music, but what do you feel you have to do to make it in the gaming industry?

My interest in gaming is strictly recreational, but I do love a challenge. Gaming is a great way for me to blow off stream and have fun with my friends.

Sideaction:  As a person who is active on Twitch and loves gaming with others, which sports games are your favorite?

Hands down Madden is my favorite sports game.

Sideaction: Is gaming a sport to you?

In my opinion, gaming isn’t a traditional sport. However, I know it requires skill, discipline and is highly competitive.

Sideaction:  How does one prepare for long sessions on a game and competing against others?

When I know I’m going to have a long gaming session I make sure I get a good night’s rest and have plenty of snacks on hand. A good gaming chair is crucial. Another thing that is key to a good gaming session is removing all distractions from my environment (aka send the wifey and kid out shopping). lol

Sideaction:  Is it way different than preparing for a concert/tour?

It’s very different than preparing for a show/tour. Most of our shows require long travel days. I have to prepare for that. Playing a show requires a lot of mental focus and is physically demanding. When I play a show I’m drumming non-stop anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours. It’s like boxing myself that entire time. I don’t think there is anything else quite like it.

Sideaction: Tell us about your upcoming Twitch streaming channel and what it will be all about?

I’m inviting gamers to join me while I play FPS games with some of my buddies. They’re skilled players and total characters. I think viewers are going to enjoy the laid back play along experience and be entertained! There may be some familiar faces joining me so stay tuned.

Sideaction: Any bold sports predictions for the rest of 2021 and into 2022 with other sports you watch?

The Lakers are going to be the NBA Champions, and my [Jacksonville] Jaguars won’t go 1-15 this season!
