Matthew Stafford’s Wife Kelly Has A Message For Detroit Following The QB’s First Game Against The Former Squad

There were few Detroit fans in attendance this weekend with Matthew Stafford and the Rams took on the lowly Lions for the first time since the QB left in the offseason.

But the ones who did make the trip made sure to show their gratitude for what Stafford was able to give to their team for so many years. Some fans even brought signs to thank the QB for everything.

Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, saw the kind gestures, and sent out a post about what Detroit means to her and Matthew.

“There were tears, belly laughs, long hugs, chills.. just about every emotion yesterday. But there are no words that could properly express the amount of gratitude I have for people of Detroit. If Matthew had social media, he would say the same. Just thank you for supporting Matthew the way you did while he was there and even now. Means far more than y’all could imagine,” she posted.

During the potential revenge game for Jared Goff and the Lions, Matthew Stafford got the last laugh.

The game was surprisingly close for a while. But after a Goff interception late in the game, the Rams were able to hang on for a 28-19 victory.

After the game, Stafford shared his wife’s thought, and complimented the Lions for how hard they fought during the game.

Phew. They threw the kitchen sink at us today, onsides kick, fake punts. They played really hard, gotta give it up to Detroit. They’re a tough out, always have been, always will be,” he said.

While Matthew and Kelly Stafford are undoubtedly happier with the situation in Los Angeles, they’ll surely look back fondly on all the good times they had in Detroit.
