Mike Singletary Ready To Take Over The Chicago Bears

Former Chicago Bears linebacker Mike Singletary is ready to take over his former organization.

After the Bears fired head coach Matt Nagy and GM Ryan Pace after the season, the team recently hired Chiefs executive Ryan Poles as their general manager. And they’ve cut down their list of potential coaches to a few names.

Mike Singletary wants to be on that list.

The Hall of Famer put in a call to Bears president Ted Phillips earlier in the offseason to lobby for the head coach job.

“You know why I’m calling. I’m ready to lead this team to a championship,” he said.

Mike Singletary was the head coach of the Niners from 2008-2010 after working as a defensive assistant around the league. His tenure was best-known for his “can’t win with em” rant about tight end Vernon Davis. And he hasn’t gotten a second chance as a head coach in the league ever since.

He was 20-28 during his 49ers run. And almost immediately after he left, Jim Harbaugh was able to turn the team into a contender.

No, Mike Singletary will not get a chance to lead his former team to the promised land. But I’m kind of hoping the guy gets a chance to right his past wrongs somewhere in the NFL.
