New England Patriots Reportedly Have Called About Jimmy G

Is Jimmy G  heading back to the Patriots? The New England Patriots, who are in a dire need of a starting quarterback after their experiment with Cam Newton failed, have “had conversations regarding every potential trade candidate in the league,” The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reported Monday. It appears they are looking into just about any available starter, Jimmy G being one of the guys on their radar.

But the Patriots have “picked up the phone” for any quarterback that might be available, according to Howe, including Garoppolo, Sam Darnold, Deshaun Watson and Marcus Mariota.

The 49ers are supposedly going to go with Garoppolo as their starter in 2021, but they’re not really all that excited about it.

Jimmy G does have a no trade clause in his contact, but my guess is he’ll be willing to waive that if the right opportunity presents itself.
