New Suitors Emerge if Adam Schefter Decides to Leave ESPN

ESPN may lose their #1 NFL reporter.

Adam Schefter’s contract with ESPN is coming up soon, which may result in a biding war for the NFL reporter.

A recent report from media insider Michael McCarthy reveals Adam Schefter could be looking elsewhere for a huge contract.

According to Front Office Sports, Schefter’s contract with ESPN is nearly up and he offered up two potential landing spots which might be a good fit.

The recent purchase of the Athletic by the New York Times makes things pretty interesting.

Via Front Office Sports:

“Both Schefter and Wojnarowski made their bones in the newspaper business,” the report says. They might welcome the chance to write more for a legacy brand like the New York Times rather than doing endless quick hits for ESPN studio shows.”

According to the report, several sportsbooks could also be in the market for an insider like Schefter.

“Sports betting giants such as Caesars Sportsbook eagerly view the trio’s vast social media followings as possible betting customers,” the report said.

Multiple outlets have already sent word to reps for Schefter, Wojnarowski that they’re ready to make offers.

ESPN still holds an exclusive negotiating window for Schefter and Wojnarowski.

ESPN is going to have to back up the Brinks truck if they want to keep both Schefty and Woj.
