NFLPA To Launch Investigation After Urban Meyer Admits Factoring Vaccine Into Roster Decisions

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer may be in hot water.

With final cuts due today, Meyer was asked if he had factored in which players were vaccinated when making his decision. And the coach admitted that he had, in fact, checked the vaccinated status of players before making his decision.

“Everyone was considered,” Meyer said to ESPN. “That was part of the [considerations such as] production, let’s start talking about this, and also is he vaccinated or not? Can I say that that was a decision maker? It was certainly in consideration.”

Shortly after the Urban Meyer quote about vaccinated players went viral, the NFLPA announced that they plan to launch an investigation into the Jaguars’ cuts process.

So far, it’s unclear what grounds the NFLPA would have for their investigation into Urban Meyer.

Fair or not, the NFL made rules prior to the season the make vaccinated players much more valuable than guys who won’t take the shot. If you aren’t going to at least factor some of that information into critical roster decisions, than you’re potentially putting your team behind the 8-ball.

To me, it feels like Urban Meyer is just playing the game he has to after the NFL has made their rules about unvaccinated players very clear.
