Rachel Balkovec Set To Become First Female Manager in Minor Leagues

The New York Yankees have promoted Rachel Balkovec to be the manager of the Low-A Tampa Tarpons, making her the first female manager in affiliated professional baseball.

The 34-year-old has worked in pro ball for ten years. Serving as the hitting coach in 2019 for the rookie-level Florida Complex League, she became the first female full-time hitting coach within an MLB organization.
