Rory McIlroy was on the tee with his caddie and Jon Rahm as they were preparing to start their day when confusion takes place.

McIlroy, his caddie, and Rahm all look extremely confused when the fan grabs the clubs.

The fan apparently went to grab the driver but ended up with only the head cover then proceeded to grab an iron and swing it a couple times on the tee box. The golfers apparently joked that they knew it wasn’t a real golfer because of his grip on the club.

A spokesperson for the European Tour said: “At approximately 8am on Friday morning, a spectator entered the tenth tee area.”He was quickly escorted from the tee by security personnel and the matter is now in the hands of Police Scotland.”

McIlroy is currently 11th in the official World Golf Rankings. He is also on the verge of missing the cut at the Scottish Open after finishing the first two days at -1.
