With the NFL Trade Deadline around the corner, the main question remains: will Deshaun Watson be traded?

So far, we’ve seen reports flying around that the Dolphins and Panthers are among the few teams who have engaged in conversation with the Texans about Deshaun Watson despite the lawsuits of sexual assault.

For now, Roger Goodell has not been forced to make any determination on Deshaun Watson’s eligibility because the Texans have kept the QB inactive all season. But on Tuesday, Goodell gave teams looking for a quarterback even more reason to pull the trigger on Watson.

Goodell told insider Ian Rapaport that the league doesn’t have enough to suspend Watson at this time. And the commissioner has no plans to put him on the exempt list, either.

Roger Goodell’s latest revelation makes the whole situation with Deshaun Watson and the Texans even more peculiar. One would think that if he was not in jeopardy of being ineligible, he would be playing. But it’s important to remember that Watson had demanded a trade prior to al the lawsuits.

For a while, it seemed unfathomable that a team would take a chance on Deshaun Watson given all the baggage. But perhaps an organization desperate enough will still take the chance on Watson – who remains one of the very best QBs in the entire NFL.

Maybe Roger Goodell’s re-affirmation that Deshaun Watson is in no immediate danger of being suspended will be enough for a team to send a haul to Houston.
