Russell Wilson Tension With The Seahawks Reportedly Worse Than Originally Thought

Russell Wilson isn’t happy with how he’s being treated by the Seattle Seahawks organization. He thinks he should have a say with personnel, he’s unhappy with how much power coach Pete Carroll has, and he wants a better offensive line. His agent even leaked four teams that Wilson would waive his no trade clause for–the Bears, Raiders, Cowboys and Saints.

With all that noise noted, does anyone really think Russell Wilson will be playing for another team next season? Probably not. But maybe we should.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Silver, the Russell Wilson drama is even worse than he originally thought.

“I think the situation is worse than I previously believed,” Silver said on Wednesday. “If the Seahawks are not at least having conversations about the possibility of a Russell Wilson trade right now, they’re committing malpractice.

“When your agent comes out publicly and says ‘I would play for one of these four teams,’ and your client has a no-trade clause, you’re not doing that if you strictly want to stay,” he added.

Silver would go on to add that the Seahawks aren’t exactly happy with this whole situation themselves.

“The Seahawks are not happy with the way this has gone down since the end of the season,” Silver added. “I believe that they will listen to offers from any of those four teams
I think Pete Carroll regards himself as a problem solver and will try to figure out a way to patch this up, but unless things get a lot better, even if he does come back, think about what’s on the line in a very tough division this upcoming season.”

If the Seahawks are legitimately preparing to listen to the Bears, Cowboys, Raiders or Saints on Russell Wilson, that’s big news. Wilson remains one of the top-five best quarterbacks in the NFL. If they were fielding offers, I’d imagine the Seahawks would have to receive an offer so massive they cannot pass it up in order to move Wilson.

For what it’s worth, my money is on Russell Wilson playing quarterback for the Seahawks next season.
