Scottie Pippen Told Michael Jordan He Wasn’t Happy With How He Was Portrayed In “The Last Dance”

Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan will forever be tied together for what they were able to accomplish with the Chicago Bulls. But after the popular ESPN documentary “The Last Dance”, which detailed the behind-the scenes look of the Bulls dynasty, Pippen wasn’t happy with Jordan.

Scottie Pippen said he told Michael Jordan directly that he felt the documentary wasn’t right in portraying him as the ‘sidekick’ for the six championships.

“I don’t think it was that accurate in terms of really defining what was accomplished in one of the greatest eras of basketball, but also by two of the greatest players – and one could even put that aside and say the greatest team of all time,” Pippen told The Guardian.

Shortly after his comments, Scottie Pippen announced that he’s releasing a memoir “Unguarded”, where he plans to tell his side of the story.

In the books’ summary, some serious shade was being teased.

According to the Simon & Schuster website, “Unguarded” will reveal how Pippen thinks Michael Jordan and “The 1990s Chicago Bulls teams would not exist as we know them” if he wasn’t there to hold it all together.

Scottie Pippen also thinks he should have gotten more respect.

“Pippen details how he cringed at being labeled Jordan’s sidekick, and discusses how he could have (and should have) received more respect from the Bulls’ management and the media.”

Finally, Scottie Pippen’s book is said to have some serious shade towards Michael Jordan, and Scottie will tell the world about how he was the ‘real leader’ of the team.

“[Pippen] discusses what it was like dealing with Jordan on a day-to-day basis, while serving as the real leader within the Bulls locker room.”

Scottie Pippen’s book is scheduled to come out in mid-November, and it sure feels like a rebuttal (of sorts) to “The Last Dance”.

Something tells me Michael Jordan won’t be buying a copy…
