Serena Williams Sends Love To Meghan Markle After Tell-All Interview

Tennis superstar Serena Williams was quick to come to the aid of her friend, Meghan Markle, after the big interview with Oprah. Meghan and Harry joined Oprah on Sunday night to reveal why they felt threatened enough by the royal family to want to leave the UK once and for all.

Serena took to Twitter to share her love to Meghan Markle. She admitted that she knew, “first hand the sexism and racism institutions and the media use to vilify women and people of color to minimize us, to break us down and demonize us. We must recognize our obligation to decry malicious, unfounded gossip and tabloid journalism.”

Arguably the biggest reveal during the Oprah interview was when Meghan Markle claimed that the royal family was concerned about the color of her son, Archies’, skin.

“That was relayed to me from Harry. Those were conversations that family had with him,” said Meghan via CNN. “That would be very damaging to them.”

Harry admitted that the conversation about Meghan Markle’s sons’ skin took place.

“That conversation, I am never going to share,” Harry said. “At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked.”

While Meghan Markle may not have gotten much support from the Royal Family, she has a pretty powerful supporter in Serena Williams.

“Meghan Markle, my selfless friend, lives her life — and leads by example — with empathy and compassion. She teaches me every day what it means to be truly noble. Her words illustrate the pain and cruelty she’s experienced,” tweeted Serena.
