As gambling continues its assault on the mainstream, we’re probably going to see more strange bets being placed from time to time.

This week the sketchy bet of the week goes to a gambler who made two large, very curious bets on the Sacramento Kings.

$245k on the Kings +5 and $285k on the under of 227 points.

See the shady bet below:

Not too long after the bet was posted, LeBron James had been officially ruled out of the game with Covid-19.

TMZ Sports has learned … LeBron James tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon using a lateral flow test. James was given a follow-up PCR test to confirm the diagnosis. However, that test came back negative. LeBron was then given a third tie-breaker test … which came back positive. We’re told the team has chartered a private jet so Bron can fly back to Los Angeles in a safe manner.
We’re also told James is currently asymptomatic. LeBron is fully vaccinated.

The Kings ended up getting blown out by the Lakers, so the gambler with the apparent inside info didn’t walk away with a huge windfall. However he  still made 40k from his bets after cashing in on his $285k bet on the score being under 227 points.

There’s nothing more powerful in the sports gambling world than inside information, which is going to be a real problem moving forward as betting continues to be legalized in all states.

Pretty shady stuff.
