Skip Bayless Won’t Stop Talking About How Badly The Cowboys Screwed Up The Cam Newton Situation

It would be an understatement to say that Skip Bayless wears his Dallas Cowboys fandom on his sleeve. And when Cam Newton became available, Bayless saw it as a perfect opportunity for the team to upgrade the backup situation behind Dak Prescott.

But unfortunately, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy revealed that he has no intention of making a run at Cam Newton.

After the Cowboys made their decision clear on Cam Newton, Skip Bayless lashed out.

“Mike McCarthy has seen Cam Newton up close and personal, and he’s been really good against him…” Skip said. “McCarthy’s saying, ‘we took a look and we said ‘no.’”

Sure, Cam Newton was great at one point during his career. But it doesn’t really seem like Skip Bayless is accounting for the past seven years of a steady decline from Newton.

During his shot at being a starting quarterback for the Patriots last year, Newton showed flashes of his old self, but also proved to be a mere shell of the 2015 MVP.

If Cam Newton wants to prove he has something left in the tank, it won’t be for Skip Bayless’s beloved Cowboys.
