While Jake Paul was -150 on many sportsbooks prior to the fight, not many were calling for the first round knockout. Ben Askren did not look good at weigh-ins and clearly did not impress in the ring. Who knows what will come from Askren who turns 37 later this year and is coming off a career low, getting KOed by Jake Paul in the first round.

Askren is famously known for making Jorge Masvidal in to a social media sensation with his 5 second knee to the head KO loss.

Jake Paul is now 3-0 in his boxing career as he adds another knockout victory to his resume. He knocked out former NBA star, Nate Robinson, in November of 2020, in the second round.

If you didn’t watch the whole spectacle on Saturday, don’t hold your breath. It was a circus from beginning to end. I am sure you can find the highlights on YouTube tomorrow. Here were some of the reactions from the fight:

Even sports broadcaster Stephen A. Smith chimed in last night on the situation.

What is next for Ben Askren? He looked like a fish out of water. While he was never known as a “boxer”, there’s no way a fight promotion is even considering him after this paid embarrassment. On the other hand, while Askren is not a proven boxer, his name still carries weight in the fight world. For many people, this fight seemed like an absolute flop. Or maybe that was just the sound of Askren’s body hitting the mat. For others, they are seriously considering what the next move is for YouTube star Jake Paul. Will he finally fight an actual boxer? Only time, and money, will tell.
