Stephen A Smith Rants About ‘Disaster’ Scenario Of Kyrie Irving Winning A Ring With Brooklyn

It’s been another strange year for Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving. And ESPN’s Stephen A Smith hasn’t held back when tearing into the superstar all season long.

Kyrie has made his intentions of not receiving the COVID vaccine public, and because of a New York State mandate, he cannot appear in home games for now.

Recently, Kyrie Irving re-joined the Nets, and he’ll continue to compete in the team’s road games for as long as the mandate remains in place. The controversial point guard also held firm that he won’t be receiving the vaccine even if that means the team will be shorthanded.

On Wednesday, Stephen A Smith went on his latest rant against Kyrie Irving – saying it would hurt the game of basketball if he was able to win a ring with the Brooklyn Nets.

“I think it would be a disaster if the Brookly Nets won the championship for the game of basketball,” Smith explained.

“The reason I feel that way is because of the liberties Kyrie Irving has taken in the past before the vaccination was an issue. Remember, this is the dude that needed time off when the riots at the U.S. Capitol took place because mentally he just wasn’t there and he could just walk away from the game of basketball. Now it’s the vaccine as an excuse not to be at the Barclays Center for people in Brookly to see this showstopper play.”

In Kyrie Irving’s return to basketball, he has played in four games – averaging 20.0 points to go along with 5.0 assists and 5.5 rebound per game.

As we’ve seen in the past, Kyrie is one of the most dynamic point guards in NBA history. But his off-the-court distractions have scared teams away in the past.

It’ll be interesting to see how Kyrie Irving and the Nets perform once the playoffs roll around later in the year.
