According to German sports publication Bild, Tuchel has already set the wheels in motion and is in touch with the Borussia Monchengladbach’s man via a member of his coaching crew.

The 28-year-old has a deal in place at the Borussia-Park running till 2023 but it will take in the region of just £14 million to rip up the contract between both parties. Shouldn’t be a problem, you reckon, should Chelsea be pulling out all stops for this.

Hofmann played under Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund during the 2015/16 season so you guess why the new man at the helm wants the reunion.

So Chelsea are getting a prime Michael Ballack, yeah?
