Tim Tebow Announces His Retirement From Baseball

Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow was all set to make another run at his dream of playing in the MLB. Tebow had been invited to join the New York Mets in Spring Training, but must have had a change of heart.

The New York Mets announced earlier today that Tim Tebow will be retiring from professional baseball.

“It has been a pleasure to have Tim in our organization as he’s been a consummate professional during his four years with the Mets,” said Team President Sandy Alderson. “By reaching the Triple-A level in 2019, he far exceeded expectations when he first entered the system in 2016 and he should be very proud of his accomplishments.”

Tim Tebow was originally signed by the New York Mets in 2016. He hasn’t really looked the part as a baseball player, often looking lost at the plate. Tebow last competed in 2019, and hit a mere .163 in 77 games at Triple-A Syracuse.

“I want to thank the Mets, Mr. Alderson, the fans and all my teammates for the chance to be a part of such a great organization,” said Tebow in a statement. “I loved every minute of the journey, but at this time I feel called in other directions. I never want to be partially in on anything. I always want to be 100 percent in on whatever I choose. Thank you again for everyone’s support of this awesome journey in baseball, I’ll always cherish my time as a Met. #LGM

Props to Tim Tebow for chasing his dreams, but he was just never cut out to be a MLB baseball player.
