Tom Brady Sends Post Referencing His Future Amid The Retirement Rumors

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady still has another year left on his contract. But after Tampa lost to the Rams in last weekend’s Divisional Round of the playoffs, many were wondering if the QB might be content walking away now.

After Brady mentioned that he needed time to think about his future after the playoff loss, his wife, Gisele Bundchen, posted a cryptic video montage to social media that had many fans thinking  the GOAT might be walking away from the game.

Today, Tom Brady posted his own message to social media. He referenced the fans’ interest in his retirement decision. But didn’t say one way or another whether he’d be returning for another season.

Check out his post of gratitude:

“I understand that at this stage in my career, there is going to be interest in my future whenever a season ends, but this week, all that is on my mind is the gratitude I have for this team and the fans that have supported us all year long. This year has been incredibly rewarding personally and professionally and I am appreciative of everyone who worked their ass off to help our team achieve so much.

I always want to win, I think that’s pretty apparent by now, but that doesn’t mean I equate losing to failure, especially when you go out fighting the way we did.. There’s so much to appreciate in a season like this when you’re surrounded by a team that believes in each other, and plays for the people standing on either side of them. I’ll spare you the Man in the Arena quote, but that feeling is something that I promise I’ll never take for granted. To everyone that was a part of it this year, thank you. I love you all!”

At this point, Tom Brady has nothing left to prove. He’s already very clearly the greatest to ever do it, and it’s hard to imagine anyone will be coming for that title anytime soon.

But, what makes TB12 so great is his ability to continue to strive for excellence even at 44 years of age. And it sure looked like he still had that competitive fire in him all season long.

I’d be surprised if Tom Brady chooses not to finish off the rest of his contract with the Bucs.
