Former quarterback turned CBS broadcaster Tony Romo has an uncanny ability to predict things before they happen in an NFL game. And if his prediction on Jets rookie Zach Wilson is anywhere near correct, Gang Green fans have a lot to look forward to.
When speaking about Wilson on Wednesday, Romo went all-in on the Jets quarterback, comparing him to Patrick Mahomes and other all-time great QBs.
Yikes, Tony Romo just went all-in on Zach Wilson, said it won't be long before he is a top 3-5 quarterback. Said he has Mahomes potential. #NYJets

Whoah. Tony Romo of CBS Sports says Jets rookie Zach Wilson has Patrick Mahomes like potential. Romo also thinks this is deepest group of NFL Qb’s he’s ever seen.

This isn’t the first time Tony Romo has been giving insanely high praise toZach Wilson.
Earlier in the offseason, Romo said that he believes the BYU product has shades of Hall of Famer Dan Marino in him.
“I think you guys don’t quite know how good this kid is. I think he is super rare,” Romo said at the time. “I think he’s like a young Dan Marino.”
It’s probably unfair to be placing these ridiculously high expectations on Zach Wilson, especially given that he doesn’t currently have much to work with on the Jets roster.
There’s no question the kid is talented, and we’re about to find out if he’s a legitimate star in the league for many years to come. Tony Romo sure seems to think he will be.
