UNC Players Apologize For Partying Without Masks On After Beating Duke

North Carolina Tar Heels players were in trouble for not adhering to COVID protocols after beating Duke last week.

Here was the video that showed star players Armando Bacot and Day’Ron Sharp having the time of their lives while not wearing masks during a postgame celebration party.

After this video was seen by many, the UNC-Miami game was postponed. The players sent out apologies, acknowledging that they were wrong.

“Our intention was to celebrate privately within our group. Unfortunately, we allowed several friends who are not members of the team to join the gathering. We were inside and not wearing masks, which were mistakes,” the UNC players said via TMZ.

“We apologize for not adhering to the University’s and Athletic Department’s guidelines and apologize to Coach Williams and his staff … We have worked too hard for 8 months doing the right thing to make those kinds of mistakes at this point in the season.”

You gotta kind of feel for these players. They’re literally college kids who are having the best years of their lives compromised by a terrible pandemic. With that being said, they knew what they were signing up for this season.

I get it, it was a rivalry game and the players have a right to be excited, but is it really that big of a deal? UNC and Duke are no where near as good as they normally are this season, and both blue-blood schools currently sit outside the top-25.
