Urban Meyer Gave Everyone The Ol’ Irish Goodbye After Being Fired By The Jaguars

The Urban Meyer disaster in Jacksonville is finally over.

After a tumultuous tenure filled with controversy and conflict, the final straw appeared to be when former Jags kicker Josh Lambo revealed that Meyer kicked him prior to a practice earlier in the year.

Shortly after Lambo’s interview went viral, the Jaguars announced Urban Meyer will be fired just 13 games into his reign with the team.

On Thursday, some more details from Urban Meyer’s exit were revealed.

Specifically, Meyer left the team high-and-dry after being fired. And interim coach Darrell Bevell was left to game plan with the other coaches after Urban ghosted everyone following his Wednesday meetings.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence spoke on the Urban Meyer firing after practice on Thursday.

“I really appreciate Coach Meyer and everything he’s done for me,” he said. “I wish him nothing but the best. Some changes had to be made but I wish him the best.”

“With everything that’s been going on, it’s been hard to focus,” he said via Jaguars reporter Stephen Holder.

It’s hard to imagine that we’ll be seeing Urban Meyer as a head coach again at any level following the complete disaster in Jacksonville.
