Yasiel Puig Details Settling Sexual Assault Lawsuit on Social Media

Former Los Angeles Dodgers star Yasiel Puig has finally settled his sexual assault lawsuit.

Puig was sued for sexual battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and false imprisonment last October for an alleged incident that took place at a Los Angeles Lakers game in 2018.

The Jane Doe in the lawsuit claimed Puig tried to sexually assault her in the bathroom at a Lakers game. Puig then allegedly exposed himself and started masturbating. Puig claimed the encounter was nothing but consensual.

Puig alleged that he wanted it to play out in court but a trial would not have happened until at least May 2022 and he wants to return to the league next season.

“I learned so much this past year. I learned about how the world can be very cruel and how it can put you in positions you never thought you can be in. I wanted so much to show the world my truth, but the battle was filled with red tape, and legalities and time – so much time,” he wrote on Instagram.

Puig can be a pretty good player at times, and is only 30 years old.

Hopefully now that this is behind him he can refocus on getting back to the diamond.
