Forwards/Midfield

James Ward-Prowse (DraftKings: $9,100, FanDuel: $17)

Teemu Pukki (DraftKings: $5,700, FanDuel: $15)

Norwich will play host to Southampton on a large six-game slate. Southampton has had an impressive run and faces a Norwich side that allows 1.42 expected goals at home. Southampton has the fourth-best road offense, with 1.42 expected goals per match. Norwich have a plus matchup against Southampton’s weak road defense that allows the fourth-most expected goals (1.96 per match).

Southampton is led by James Ward-Prowse in the midfield. He handles all free kick situations for the Saints and provides a floor from 8.33 crosses and 2.88 shots/assisted shots per match. Ward-Prowse’s floor makes him a core play, and his offensive metrics will see an uptick against a Norwich side that allows an EPL-leading 5.45 shots on target per match. The goal hunters for Southampton depend on the rotation, with Adam Armstrong among the key members. He is tied with Ward-Prowse atop the club’s scoring chart and averages 2.9 shots per match. Armstrong can add value with assisted shots and crosses in a dual-striker formation that could see Che Adams alongside. Either of the strikers make goal-hunting option in GPPs, but stacking them is not necessary.

Southampton struggles on the road, with multiple goals conceded to Newcastle, Chelsea and Everton. Teemu Pukki would be a leverage play in GPPs. He will not see any ownership, and the visitors’ fifth-lowest total of shots on target will scare many away. Pukki handles penalties, and accounts for the bulk of Norwich’s scoring throughout the past few years. He has no floor, but his home splits see over two shots per match.

Ivan Toney (DraftKings: $7,500, FanDuel: $17)

Wilfried Zaha (DraftKings: $8,600, FanDuel: $17)

Brentford will travel to Newcastle in a prime matchup. Newcastle has the worst home defense in the EPL, allowing 2.36 expected goals and 2.6 actual goals per match. Ivan Toney is the goal hunter up front for Brentford, with 2.36 shots per match and 30.7% goal contribution. Newcastle allows the third-most on-target shots in the EPL at 4.81 per match, and Bryan Mbeumo makes a GPP scoring option at a discounted price, with as many goals on the year and 2.3 shots per match. The set-piece man is Sergi Canos. Canos averages 4.83 crosses per match and 2.02 won tackles/interceptions.

Crystal Palace goes on the road in great form after clean sheet wins against Wolverhampton and Manchester City. They take on Burnley, who has the fourth-best home defense in the EPL, allowing 1.02 expected goals per match. The matchup is not great for the visitors, but the men up front are defying odds and willing the team to victory. Wilfried Zaha handles penalties and builds somewhat of a floor with 3.1 drawn fouls per match. Paired with a mix of created chances to the tune of 3.45 make him a top goal-contribution threat. The price on DraftKings is hard to pay up for. Zaha would need to start with a goal to pay off that price, but on FanDuel he is a top play at an price similar to that of Toney and Callum Wilson, Neal Maupay and company. The set-piece man for Palace is Conor Gallagher. He has 4.73 scoring chances created per match and 4.12 crosses. His upside is on the offense where he averages 2.3 shots per match and ties Zaha atop the team’s scoring lead. Gallagher contributes on 40% of Crystal Palace’s overall scoring and is a core play in all formats.

Michail Antonio (DraftKings: $7,900, FanDuel: $20)

Cristiano Ronaldo (DraftKings: $8,700, FanDuel: $23)

The most popular options on the slate can be found on West Ham and Manchester United. Michail Antonio comes in at a low enough price for the brace upside. He averages 3.6 shots per match and 2.1 assisted shots per match. He accounts for 42% of the goal contribution for high-scoring West Ham. Wolverhampton is in the middle of the EPL, with 1.37 expected goals allowed at home. They allow four shots on target per match but sit near the bottom of the EPL with a clean sheet rate of just 18.2%. Newcastle and Watford have zero clean sheets on the season. Antonio can be paired with Pablo Fornals or Said Benrahma in GPPs and Jarod Bowen in all formats. Bowen has emerged on the indirect set pieces, and his open-play run 2.42 shots and 1.72 assisted shots to complement the 4.72 crosses per match.

Manchester United is desperate for a win. It has struggled to create on the road but still have posted 1.8 goals per match, and opponent Watford has zero clean sheets. The visitors have Cristiano Ronaldo, so the multi-goal performances are never out of the question. Ronaldo has a high price across the board with a floor built on shot volume of 3.5 per match and 39% on target accuracy. Ronaldo is a top option, and the question becomes to goal hunt with Ronaldo and Antonio. In GPP you can mix around with an additional choice of Toney should you vacant the floor options of Ward-Prowse and Gallagher. West Ham has spread scoring as well, but the price gives more leeway for Antonio should he assist on the scoring and fail to score.

Other Options: Neal Maupay (DraftKings $6,300, FanDuel $17), Ollie Watkins (DraftKings $7,000, FanDuel $17), Ismaila Sarr (DraftKings $7,000, FanDuel $15), Cucho Hernandez (DraftKings $6,200, FanDuel $13).

Defense

Matt Ritchie (DraftKings: $5,900, FanDuel: $11)

Newcastle will need to push the offense as their defense lacks conviction. Matt Ritchie handles the indirect set shares. He averages 7.54 crosses per match. He should see an uptick on his 2.18 won tackles/interceptions per match with a heavy attack from Brentford in a match they should feel they can come away with points on. Ritchie will have his opportunities to deliver against the visitors that foul at the sixth-highest rate in the EPL. The cash options for the defender are below mixed with two punt plays that offer a stars and scrubs approach to the slate.

Other Options: Luke Shaw (DraftKings $6,000, FanDuel $12), Shane Duffy (DraftKings $2,800, FanDuel $14), Rayan Ait-Nouri (DraftKings $4,900, FanDuel $8). Sergi Canos (DraftKings $5,400, FanDuel $12). Ben Mee (DraftKings $2,800, FanDuel $10)

Goalkeeper

Ben Foster (DraftKings: $3,900, FanDuel: $6)

Emiliano Martinez (DraftKings: $4,900, FanDuel: $11)

Vicente Guaita (DraftKings: $4,800, FanDuel: $11)
