EPL Odds Report

Tottenham (+225) vs. Liverpool (+110), O/U 3.5

EPL DFS Picks DraftKings + FanDuel Lineups | Jan. 28

These are listed in order of what I believe are the top plays, including median projection, floor and upside.

EPL DFS Picks: Forwards/ Midfielders

Harry Kane (DraftKings $15,300 FanDuel $15)

Mohamed Salah (DraftKings $14,400 FanDuel $14)

Both Tottenham and Liverpool are hanging around Europa League qualification. Tottenham ranks seventh in the EPL in home offense. Their defense ranks fifth, and they have an expected goal differential of +0.32 per match. Liverpool’s road offense is sixth in the EPL, and their defense is below average. I like this game to be high scoring; Liverpool’s defense leaks chances, but their offense is still third in scoring and second in shot volume.

Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah are the goal-hunting options. They both bring brace upside to any match and rank top five in shot volume in the EPL. Salah leads in goals on the year, while Kane is tied for second with teammate Son Heung-Min. Kane averages 3.83 shots per match with on-target accuracy of 37%. He contributes on 69% of his club’s scoring and can add value with 3.83 assisted shots/drawn fouls.

Salah averages 3.27 shots per match with 45% on-target accuracy. He averages 1.66 assisted shots per match and contributes on 43% of his club’s scoring. I lean Kane because I think Tottenham defense is more stable in current form than Liverpool’s. In an MME both will garner ownership, and given that the odds slightly favor for Liverpool, Salah should garner a few shares more.

Son Heung-Min (DraftKings $15,600 FanDuel $13)

Trent Alexander-Arnold (DraftKings $12,600 FanDuel $10)

The floor plays come in the form of Son Heung-Min and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Son averages 3.77 shots and assisted shots per match. He builds a floor off indirect set pieces and 4.33 crosses per match. He contributes on 54% of Tottenham’s scoring, and joins Kane atop the league leaders in goal scoring.

Alexander-Arnold provides the highest floor. He averages eight crosses per match through corner and open play deliveries. He has added value on offense with 3.17 shots/assisted shots per match. The price on Alexander-Arnold is discounted to allow paying up for two of Kane, Salah or Son in the flex, making him the best cash option. In GPPs he always garners the highest ownership, so I would match the field or pivot if not MMEing. On FanDuel, you cannot roster a defender in the captain spot, and Kane or Salah are the preferred plays.

Other Options: Sadio Mane (DraftKings $15,000, FanDuel $13).

EPL DFS Picks: Flex

Serge Aurier (DraftKings $5,400 FanDuel $9)

Tanguy Ndombele (DraftKings $6,600 FanDuel $8)

Serge Aurier is the more active wingback for Tottenham. It looks like Sergio Reguilon will miss the match, but if he is in, I like his price point as well. Aurier would benefit from his teammates absence, with an uptick in his 2.4 open-play crosses and 1.4 shots/assisted shots per match. He adds value in the defense and will have opportunity to increase that production of 2.8 won tackles/interceptions.

Tanguy Ndombele comes with the risk of being pulled around the 70-minute mark. In the time he is on the pitch, he is active and can lead the counter attacks. He averages 1.62 drawn fouls per match, 1.5 shots/assisted shots and has been involved in the goal scoring in recent form.

Georginio Wijnaldum (DraftKings $3,400 FanDuel $5)

Georginio Wijnaldum is a punt option, along with teammate Fabinho. He averages 1.52 shots/assisted shots per match and draws near a foul per match in full-game run. His main purpose is salary relief, but with activity in the box, there is always goal-involvement upside. On the other wing, Jordan Henderson or Curtis Jones come in as GPP options depending on who starts. Jones is preferred because of the discounted asking price.

Other Options: Andrew Robertson (DraftKings $8,800, FanDuel $9), Harry Winks (DraftKings $3,600, FanDuel $4), Roberto Firmino (DraftKings $7,800, FanDuel $12).
