DraftKings & FanDuel UCL DFS Picks Today
Paris Saint-Germain (+195) vs. Manchester City (+130), O/U 2.5
RB Leipzig (-225) vs. Club Brugge (+550), O/U 2.5
AC Milan (+180) vs. Atletico Madrid (+160), O/U 2.5
FC Porto (+340) vs. Liverpool (-135), O/U 2.5
Borussia Dortmund (-225) vs. Sporting CP (+725), O/U 3.5
Real Madrid (-1,000) vs. Tiraspol (+2,500), O/U 3.5
Jude Bellingham (DraftKings: $7,100, FanDuel: $18)
Donyell Malen (DraftKings: $7,300, FanDuel: $17)
Borussia Dortmund will host Portugal top side Sporting CP. Sporting had a world of trouble with Ajax in their first meeting, losing 5-1. Dortmund came away with a narrow victory against Besiktas. Dortmund is a far better offense with an expected goals of 1.93 per match, sitting third overall in a top-tier Bundesliga. Sporting is a top Portuguese side but like the match against Ajax their defense seems to leak holes against top-tier leagues.
The question up to lock is the health of Erling Haaland. Haaland is a clear go-to, with brace upside despite the massive price price. Should he miss the match, there are options at a discount. The goal-hunting options would reside with Jude Bellingham. He averages 1.25 shots per match with an on-target accuracy clip of 42%. He also adds value with 3.4 scoring chances created and leads the hosts with 2.86 drawn fouls per match. He is a complement to Haaland or Marco Rues in GPP. Should both or one miss the start, he would likely see an uptick in shot volume and would be considered too cheap for the goal-contribution upside.
Donyell Malen sits on the other wing. His value comes in with Haaland or Rues missing. He averages 1.4 drawn fouls per match and 3.25 scoring chances created. His 2.5 open play crossing volume and 1.50 shots per match can only go up on the spread should the late fitness tests not bold well for Dortmund’s bigger names.
Hans Vanaken (DraftKings: $5,600, FanDuel: $17)
Noa Lang (DraftKings: $5,000, FanDuel: $16)
Despite an impressive performance against Paris Saint-Germain, Club Brugge sits as a sizable underdog. They are no longer the home side but face an RB Leipzig side that has been exploited on defense. Leipzig sits second in the Bundesliga in expected goals, but below mid-tier in expected goals allowed at 1.6 per match. Brugge is a sound team with talent and a core that is hard to break through.
Hans Vanaken looks to handle the set shares and would be on PK duty should Ruud Vormer miss another match. Vanaken averages 2.42 shots per match and hits target at 42%. With drawn fouls and interception metrics his floor offers the best value at under $6,000. The mix up front comes at significant savings and even as a one-off from the core will allow paying up for the Haaland and Karim Benzema’s of the slate.
Noa Lang comes in cheaper than his counterpart Charles De Ketelaere. De Ketelaere is the scoring man so far for the club, but Lang sits with a few hundred cheaper and matches his goals in the assist department. In cash, Vanaken is the go-to in the price range, and De Ketelaere would be a GPP option.
Riyad Mahrez (DraftKings: $7,500, FanDuel: $17)
Jack Grealish (DraftKings: $10,000, FanDuel: $17)
Paris Saint-Germain has a tough tprice at hand as they host Manchester City. They failed to secure a victory against Club Brugge and Manchester City has an arsenal of weapons that dismantled RB Leipzig. This match should see an abundance of goals but the odds rest with the away side. The wingmen up top come in at a discount, which has the match up priced in. Manchester City rank second overall in the EPL in expected goals and first in expected goals allowed. The price on the Paris top attackers, Leonel Messi and Neymar, are a fade away spot for me given the match up. The question is which Manchester City men to roster.
Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez seem mispriced. Grealish racks up points in open play with an average 2.99 crosses and 6.04 scoring chances created. He draws 2.76 fouls per match and has contributed on 18% of the club’s overall scoring. This mark seems low, but the scoring is spread throughout the reigning EPL champions. The spread makes it hard to pay up for Kevin De Bruyne especially without full range of the direct free kicks.
Riyad Mahrez has taken his number of direct free kicks, while De Bruyne was on the pitch. Mahrez also handles some indirect sets on his side of the pitch. His open-play volume is led by 3.89 shots per match. The concerning part is the lack of accuracy, at just 18%. For DraftKings I would still go to him. On FanDuel the pay up to De Bruyne is not a huge jump.
James Milner (DraftKings: $4,200, FanDuel: $14)
Liverpool is in a prime position. FC Porto has a solid defense, but Liverpool offense is on another level this season. They sit atop the EPL in expected goals and have posted five consecutive three-goal matches. An interesting note is Trent Alexander-Arnold missing from the traveling side. Should he not join the club James Milner looks to slot in the wingback role. Milner will handle the indirect sets on his half of the field. His price is nowhere near the floor he provides with crossing volume and assisted shots when his forwards connect. Should he start he is a core play in all formats.
Other Options: Karim Benzema (DraftKings $10,500, FanDuel $22), Brahim Diaz (DraftKings $5,800, FanDuel $17), Roberto Firmino (DraftKings $6,500, FanDuel $17), Mohamed Salah (DraftKings $10,000, FanDuel $21), Eden Hazard (DraftKings $6,900, FanDuel $16)
David Alaba (DraftKings: $5,300, FanDuel: $12)
Real Madrid has the most favorable match up and the forwards are all top options on the slate. With injuries on the defense, David Alaba looks to slot in as the wingback. He has accurate crossing abilities, and that volume alone provides a floor to pay off the price. His upside sits in goal contribution.
Should Alaba sit at the center back role and Miguel Gutierrez starts in the wingback role the pay down makes sense. Gutierrez was impressive in limited action with 2.73 crosses per match and 1.73 scoring chances created. His defensive metrics add value with 3.75 interceptions and won tackles per match.
Other Options: Eduard Sobol (DraftKings $4,200, FanDuel $10), Clint Mata (DraftKings $3,700, FanDuel $7), Theo Hernandez (DraftKings $5,000, FanDuel $13). Joao Cancelo (DraftKings $5,100, FanDuel $14)
Simon Mignolet (DraftKings: $4,000, FanDuel: $8)
Alison (DraftKings: $5,500, FanDuel: $12)
Ederson (DraftKings: $4,900, FanDuel: $11)
