Robert Lewandowski (DraftKings: $11,500, FanDuel: $23)
Joshua Kimmich (DraftKings: $8,200, FanDuel: $15)
Bayern Munich welcomes Dynamo Kyiv as massive favorites. Bayern leads the Bundesliga in scoring, with nearly four goals per match. The visiting Ukrainian side held their own against Benfica with a 0-0 draw and then were dismantled in their domestic super cup by Shaktar, 3-0. Neither of those sides have the skill and firepower of Bayern.
Robert Lewandowski comes in with a massive price tag. It is still worth the pay up because he does not stop scoring. He has over 4.1 shots per match across four consecutive years. In that time frame he is also averaging over a goal a match and hits target at an accuracy clip of 45.07%. Lewandowski is a core play across all slates and formats. Rostering the Serge Gnarby and Leroy Sane would fit the stacking script for a match that should see Bayern post a number of goals.
Leon Goretzka has a sub-$6,000 price and involvement pushing up the middle. He averages 3.02 shots per match and 3.77 scoring chances created. He has yet to find the back of the net for Bayern this season but has contributed with a goal or assist in 50% of his starts across the previous three seasons. The set-piece man for cash games is Joshua Kimmich. His price is cheap enough for the crossing volume of 6.21 per match and 3.1 scoring chances created.
Karim Adeyemi (DraftKings: $7,800, FanDuel: $18)
Benjamin Sesko (DraftKings: $7,600, FanDuel: $17)
RBSalzburg hosts Lille. Salzburg play at a high pace and posted a three expected goals against a sound Sevilla defense in their last outing. As for their domestic success, they are in a lower league and have 11 consecutive wins. Lille should fare better at home, but they have not looked like defending Ligue 1 champions in recent form.
Karim Adeyemi is a goal-hunting option averaging 3.06 shots per match and hitting target at 59% accuracy. He has contributed on 34.78% of the home side’s overall scoring on the year and handles the PK sets. Benjamin Sesko is second on the team in scoring and averages 4.13 shots per match. Sesko is a far better DraftKings option than FanDuel due to the concern in his lack of on-target accuracy. Should one of the goal hunters sit this match out, Noah Okafor is a sub-$4,000 option and has posted over 5.5 shots per match in his small sample this season. He would allow salary relief for Lewandowski and another big name such as Memphis Depay.
Romelu Lukaku (DraftKings: $9,300, FanDuel: $20)
Cristiano Ronaldo (DraftKings: $10,000, FanDuel: $22)
The slate has some expensive goal-hunting options and few standout value plays. Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo stand garner a ton of ownership. Both are in prime spots for scoring and handle the PK sets. Ronaldo has the home-field advantage and averages 5.67 shots per match for Manchester United. His on-target rate of 41.2% is one of his better performances in recent years. He is far below Lewandowski on the preferred list, but he is a career brace upside threat.
Lukaku will visit Juventus, and they have a number of questions on the roster. He averages three shots per match on a Chelsea side that does not post a lot of volume. The odds are in favor of Ronaldo, and for cash he is a solid pair with Lewandowski. For GPP Lukaku would offer a few hundred savings and would have brace upside should Juventus’ starting 11 be depleted.
Dani Parejo handles the set shares for Villareal and is under $5,300. For GPP’s Ivan Rakitic and Joan Jordan mix in to Sevilla’s indirect shares. Rakitic does not offer the floor but has scoring upside. Jordan plays on the wing and can add value with open-play crosses and scoring chances created. Whoever gets the nod opens up salary for two or three of the top goal hunters paired along with a Parejo.
Other Options: Memphis Depay (DraftKings $9,500, FanDuel $21), Pizzi (DraftKings $8,100, FanDuel $16), Bruno Fernandes (DraftKings $9,100, FanDuel $20), Jonathan David (DraftKings $6,600, FanDuel $17), Timothy Weah (DraftKings $4,800, FanDuel $15), Hakim Ziyech (DraftKings $7,000, FanDuel $17)
Andreas Ulmer (DraftKings: $5,400, FanDuel: $8)
Marcos Alonso (DraftKings: $5,900, FanDuel: $15)
Andreas Ulmer handles the indirect sets for RB Salzburg. He averages 8.96 crosses per match. He is not one to take his chances at the net and contributed via the created chances. Marcos Alonso continues to handle indirect set shares on his side of the pitch. He averages 6.22 crosses per match and 2.69 scoring chances created. Possession should be in favor of Chelsea, and Alonso would see an uptick in both metrics.
Other Options: Alejandro Grimaldo (DraftKings $5,500, FanDuel $14), Mehmet Zeki Celik (DraftKings $4,200, FanDuel $8), Juan Cuadrado (DraftKings $5,800, FanDuel $14)
Edouard Mendy (DraftKings: $5,200, FanDuel: $11)
Marc Andre ter Stegan (DraftKings: $5,000, FanDuel: $10)
